I think he takes offense when I called him out on a couple of his articles, yes, he is very knowledgeable but tends to draw his own conclusions and had some good debates about those articles. I've known Doug since I was 15 and looks awesome for anyone's age.
Yes he tends to be a bit wordy and a little defensive. He took offense to me remembering something different than he did. (there was a mishap at one of his shows in the 80's where they misplaced his music but then found it). Not a big deal, He certainly knows how to get back into shape and dial it in on contest day.
