Bo is considered by many as "ultimate athlete" due to fact that he played and excelled in both professional football and Major League Baseball.  His athletic abilities were indeed amazing and "rare", even to today's standards.  The fella you posted a picture of can't hang with BO, not in a million years

Basketball is for tall people with freaky black genetics. It's a gym class sport that has no business being so popular. There's so little skill involved.

Real athletes get by on multiple fronts. Hockey requires so much more talent than a sport like basketball, you need to be tough, need to be able to move incredibly fast, and you need to skate and puck handle.

To understand the value of a sport ask yourself a simple question, could a monkey play or pretend to play the sport? With basketball the answer is yes.

It’s because he is was obviously a very skilled guy who was 6’1 230 and I think ran one of the fastest 40’s times.

Also Bo was a clutch guy; He led off the MLB all star game with the below at bat.

Because Bo and Deon Sanders had HOF talent for 2 major sports.  If Myles Garrett could hit a 95mph fastball over 400 feet with a wooden bat, he'd be in their league.

Baseball just takes batting cage practice and no fear of getting hit by the pitch usually a few shots of goldschlager

Bo Jackson was just another two sport freak athlete. Ridiculous athleticism plus speed and power. He never had the chance to play to his full potential because of his career ending injury, but what he did in that short of time was unbelievable. Imagine if he had full careers in either sport. I think the only one that can even come close is Deion Sanders.

  • I hope I'm not boring you.
Having grown up in the "Bo Knows" era, it's definitely the dual sport thing. He was the first athlete I can remember doing both well at a pro-level. He was also a nice guy and had a good PR machine behind him. The Nike ads and the shoes, the breaking the bat over the head, the Tecmo Bowl rush. Every kid that played that game remembers Bo in it.

Also as Coach mentioned, there's the "what if?" factor, and the fact that he became somewhat of a mystery after he left sports.

A simple 80mph fastball would annihilate you.

While you may technically correct…….You’re biased due to family connections.

As Grape mentioned. Hitting a baseball is probably the hardest thing to do in sports. I’ve been to the Louisville Slugger museum 2X in my life and have worked with hundreds of baseball players from HS to the MLB. One of the attractions was watching a movie presentation on precisely this. Even harder when movement is added to the mix. IMO, baseball players are better athletes than football players.
