can't i just take my BSN true mass as my post workout shake?
« on: March 17, 2009, 09:39:33 AM »
hi everyone! just wondering, i usually take my BSN true mass shake in the afternoon as a huge meal replacement, but i was wondering instead of the usual waxy maize/carb drink followed quickly by a big ole whey shake, then an hour or so a real meal....

couldn't i just take a BSN true mass shake as my post workout shake, i mean it has enough calories about 600 or so, enough protein 55 grams, enough carbs 75 plus, to refuel my body, so....

instead of every workout doing the usual carb then whey drink, then meal, couldn't i do the 1 true mass shake, and kill two birds with one stone as they say? also would save money and time i might add.

on the days i just do cardio i will continue to take my true mass in the afternoon.

thanks in advance for the replies!

Of course, you can.

It’s got plenty of protein and carbs to help you recover. Don’t get wrapped around the axle about having to take cross-filtered-ion-exchange-super-cali-fragilistic-smack-it-up-flip-rub-it-down-whey protein isolate after each workout.

In fact, the only time I take whey protein isolate after a workout is when I can get the RTDs (either Isopure or ABB’s Mass Recovery, Pure Protein, or Extreme XXL) on clearance from GNC.

Otherwise, I’ll just use an MRP or a weight gainer, as I did back in college (N-Large2 or Mega Mass 2000).

I'll even use 50 grams of soy protein, if I get it cheap (i.e. $10 for a 4-lb jug, as I once did from GNC).
