I wouldn't say poor, but definitely underperforming.  Giving up too many big plays.  Most importantly, poor half-time adjustments, which is usually a sign of poor coaching.
God do I know about poor coaching.

Dark days for my Niners.  I don't think they are out of the playoff hunt given how weak the NFC West is, but they are definitely not a Super Bowl team at this point.

Just get in and peak in the playoffs. The best team now will not be the best team in January.

Yeah and we have the Chiefs last year as a prime example.  Finished 11-6 then got hot in the playoffs.

That said, I'm really troubled by what I see.  Not the same team as last year.  Fatigue maybe?  Not having Dre Greenlaw has been huge.  Special teams suck.  The RT is awful.  Deebo has not been earning his pay.  They still have enough talent to go on a run, but they are running out of time.

Keep waiting for them to get it together and it's just not happening.  If they make the playoffs, they would not be a team I'd want to face in the wild card round.

Are the coach and GM in danger of losing their jobs?

Given the success they have had, I doubt it.

Stick a fork in my Niners.  Even though they are still mathematically alive, there is no way they are contending when they stink in all three phases of the game.

Hard to play an away game without your starting QB. Rams losing last night helped a lot. If they can get it together they can still make a run.

And your All Pro LT, All Pro DE, WR1, second best LB, starting CB, etc.  But it's bigger than injuries.  The penalties, the missed tackles, the play calling, Deebo being invisible, the lack of half time adjustments are huge.  Then you have Shannahan starting Allen over Dobbs at QB and not giving Jordan Mason any reps.  Big mistake.

Bosa being out screws up everything on defense. He is the most dominant defensive player in the NFL and covers up a lot of problems that are exposed when he's not in there.

True.  As soon as we went out the defense collapsed.  Also, Fred Warner just revealed that he has been playing with a fractured ankle for weeks.  Shades of Ronnie Lott.

Ohio State experienced the same collapse when Bosa got hurt in college. Their defense went from dominant to the shits on one season ending play.

Bet he won’t cut it off like Ronnie Lott did tho. Soft as Charmin, players these days.

Bosa's dad felt his NFL career was cut short because he played through injuries. He has made sure Joey and Nick extend their careers by sitting out with injuries. Most NFL players do this now. They should take a pay cut for not playing games.

Apart from signing bonuses and guaranteed parts, won’t they lose some salary?

I guesss it’s a bit more complicated. Like if a team doctor says that they should sit vs player saying he feels like it?

They won't lose as much salary as they would retiring years earlier.

They don't make players like Ronnie Lott anymore.

Well my boys are done.  CMC done for the year.  Mason on IR.  Aiyuk done for the year.  Hargrave done for the year.  Hufanga out.  Ward out.  Bosa out.  Defensive coordinator sucks.  Trent Williams hurt.  Deebo having a down year.  Just an absolute mess.

There are some big surprises this year with teams that were expected to contend aren't. Jets and Bengals are terrible like the 49'ers.
