Anyways, the Bourne series was from the beginning NOT about an "action hero", but a "normal" guy that finds out he is trained as a killer.
He is SUPPOSED to look like you and me (well not like me, he would be an action hero then), and just be able to do stuff he was trained.
People seem to not understand this.
Very true - and Matt Damon was believable as the everyman who is secretly a highly trained ass kicking machine, whose only reality at the start of the first film, is that he has skills.
Jeremy Renner I watched last night in The Town. He's just ......not. He'd be too small to even get selected for the same program Bourne was involved in!
And I agree about the books - they're really not that great in comparison to the films (which is usually not the case at all). Story is ok (different to the films) but the characterisation is really poorly done.
But even the dude in the books was more convincing than Jeremy Renner will be
