That's pretty much it. I'm packing up now, because we are doing an addition/remodel of our house and are moving shit into a pod. This is quite sharp advice. I have to watch myself because I will argue a point for hours and it can be totally mundane, such as where to put Sycamore and where to put Oak Leaves- one of our latest disagreements. In the end, its just leaves in a compost pile, but they do break down at different rates. $:-\$

I've heard that you shouldn't put oak leaves in the compost because they contain an herbicide.

Oak should be fine as long as you don`t have herbicide drift from anywhere else. Oak are only slightly acidic which is perfect for Azaleas. Black Walnut trees, on the other hand, produce a chemical called juglone which is toxic to many plants, especially to tomatoes and should be avoided, leaves and all.
