King will go down in the record books as having made an impact by providing a personality to the sport, which provided something for many of the fans to talk about. Like him or not, King become one of the most recognized names in the industry for a few years, as his rants, actions and stage presence provided lots of talk.
His best placing as in his rookie year, when he predicted he would make the Top Three at the Ironman, and did. Since then, it has been a struggle to regain.
As in any competitive career, when one leaves, another takes their place.
