Bro your buddy is super strong. He could do even more then those vidoe"s you showed me if he didn't stand on the platform.

Pfft, that happens all the time.  The bit of the story (maybe) you are missing is where the guy does 10kg less and lifts it like he's got 40kg in the bank (I speak from experience of doing exactly the same).  It's hard to describe how things can suddenly go to shit (for some people).  There's nothing wrong with that lift, at the top end of your deadlift, sometimes you know it's just not right to even start.  The dude did the right thing.  The worst thing you can do is try to grind through a deadlift that you know is pretty much a cointoss on whether you make it or you back disintegrates.  I know because I have many times and the good portion of the next year I spent not deadlifting, due to the injury I gave myself when I finally got owned by it - definitely wasn't worth it.   Once you have stuffed your back from that, if you're anything like me, if that bar doesn't have good acceleration off the bottom, you just don't do it (hence, 10kg less can go up like a rocket and bar can not move with more weight).  Eat humble pie this week, get to deadlift next week.

He probably needs to do deficits.

I had the same thing happen to me when going for a 1RM a few years ago. 15x135lbs, 8x225, 6x315, 1x365-405-430... 485 went up effortlessly, so I slapped 500lbs on....and the weight did not move on inch...stripping all of that weight off the bar seemed to take forever due to the embarassment...

...more embarassing than the time I popped a bonar at a middle school dance social when a chick started grinding on me, and wouldn't let me pull away. :P

eh shit happens... happens to me too sometimes, one week i do something.. next week stuck on floor, burned out CNS, or high BP, and i let go... its more or less CNS burn out from time to time. Take some days off... come back set a PR -- hopefully :) I never feel embarrassed as I know what I'm doing is what I'm suppose to be doing and not just being a jack ass.

However this dude in the OP's video seemed a little too skinny fat to be pulling that weight imo... even for a power lifter if he were one...

The video is a complete joke. The dude's an idiot.

He's using straps. LOL!!!!

He's wearing long baggy sweat pants while deadlifting. LOL!!

He's up on the balls of his feet like he's going to start sprinting. LOL!

The bar didn't bend or budge. LOL!!!!

"at the top end..."    "good acceleration..."   LOL!!!!   The bar didn't move a single inch.

The dude's an idiot.

;D ;D hahaha     Maybe I'm just looking at the video wrong. Perhaps dude did 10 reps, they were just bodybuilding style, non lockout, continuous tension reps.

That weight is at least 75-100 pound more than that fat runt could pull.

When pulling a heavy deadlift the bar will drag your quads from the knee all the way to lock out. If you're doing heavy deadlifts the bar will stop almost instantly as it grabs your sweat pants and bundles them up. At the very least, it will increase the drag & resistance by a huge amount.

Sweat pants in general? Go for it.

OH, I see, well I use baggy sweats all the time and never have this problem, or at least never notice on my sets of 5 plates for 10 reps  :-\

Someone needs to lower their dose. You've been cranky lately OMR, that's not your style.

OH, when you pull 733 in competition, call me, I'll buy you some fancy new pants.

500 for 10 that's really damn good, respect bro :)

Speaking of which, there's this one dude on youtube i was following his channel, coulda sworn i was subscribed but i cant seem to find him.. i forget his name... big guy, tall 290lbs somewhere there, eats like a horse, repping out 800+ with his buddies... argh i have to find his vid. I'd post my buddy's videos too he doesnt have any new ones except from few months back but i dun wana reveal his identity :)

I will try to find that guy that reps out 800s.... frickin awesome. If I recall it was no straps too yikes and he wasn't a fat ass powerlifter either lol.

Edit: I think he might have closed his channel or something... kept looking and nothing.... damn... Some of the videos they were doing were in like an appartment if i remember LMAO...

I remember also one other vid of this dude where it was non lifting related, scared of a spider and his girlfriend/wife laughing... if anyone knows who this dude is and his channel let me know i wana post those vids, sick lifts. It's quite possible he deleted his channel :(

I know it's probably paramount that you demonise this fellow in your eyes, but the truth isn't quite so simple (I'm not saying this wasn't an idiot, just saying - seen it happen many times to many people - not often douchebags, either).  Deadlifting right at the top end of what you could possibly do can be quite inconsistent.  If it hasn't happened to you, well done, great job.

I'm sure you are only speaking from experience so I will give you mine - I have pulled 250kg before without any problems, put 260kg on and not moved an inch.  I went back to the drawing board (deficits).  Live to lift another day.  As soon as his butt came up, he was gone.  I have deadlifted after that back came up and like I say, goodbye deadlifts for a long long time after doing that.

True to a degree I suppose. If you are not mentally prepared you will crash, true, but this kid didn't look like he was even positioned properly and normally if you fail it usually goes up an inch or so, if not then you are using weight you can't handle, hence you will be made fun as this kid is here. I don't know  :-\
