Yep, I said it, Paris Hilton is not as useless as I had previously thought. ...really :)
Apparently she released some "home-made beauty tips" that she swears by, ...one of which was how to polish up and exfoliate rough skin etc. She said she uses 'pot scrubbers' :o
pot scrubbers I thought? :o ??? :-\
so I decided to give it a try. you know what... those darn things work better than any expensive foot cream, pedicure lotion or exfoliating device I've ever tried. My feet are smooth as a baby's butt. And the scrubbing pad is not as rough on my skin as I thought it would be. I'm gonna buy a whole whack of those and exchange them for my washcloths and scrunchies.
It's 21 degrees celcius (74 F) and sunny, ...and I'm breaking out the Jimmy Choo sandals :D

I would never have paid any attention if I knew beforehand that it came from Paris Hilton. It was a woman who was plugging her new book which was essentially a compiled list of home made solutions from various sources. She gave a tip here, mentioned who she got it from, a tip there etc., ...then she mentioned the pot scouring pads for exfoliating feet, and it sounded pretty sound in theory. It was only afterwards that she said she got the tip from Paris Hilton, ...but you know what, ...it worked.

Bag balm is great when you can get it... but it's just too greasy for me. yuck. I'm liking the pot scrubber tho.
Much more convenient to use in the shower rather than having to get my feet all greasy and sleep in cotton socks

Shaving Toes?
Big toe bottoms, and some edges too, can get badly callused. I don't know how girls stand them tight High Heels. They got to be hell on feet. (But I sure Love to watch ya's walk in 'em :P)
Anyway, if its real BAD, the razor does wonders. The Asian girls fret on hands and feet, it's innexpensive to get them done there. ALso the open shoes, heat and nasty sidewalks take a toll. I freaked 1st time when I saw them go at spots w/ a razor :-\, but I had some very nasty spots from years of wearing steel-toe boots they talked me into hitting. Works good, 1st time I had soft toes for years. Recently I've seen it done on TV at a posh spa...

I get these "shower towels" made in Korea and Japan. They feel like the pot scrubbers. I love them and they keep my skin exfoliated. They do a great job taking off Pro Tan.

Tasha, you know those scouring pads for cleaning pots? ...those are what I'm taking about.
I didn't get the Scotch-bright ones because they looked too much like sharp velcro, but just ordinary green scouring pads. they worked pretty well, and you really get he blood circulating.

Well they do when stuck in the wilds of northern Ontario for a week... when you've read every magazine, watched every dvd, cleaned everything, counted all the stars, made lists in your head, discovered the key to solving the world's environmental issues, talked on the phone to everyone you know...and he's just there... lying on the couch with bare feet. :D

What used to be good was go get discount haircuts from the students @ the cosmo school.
Place was allways FULL of lovely young women ;D (who cant cut hair very good yet, I also made the mistake of letting one do her straight razor facial shave requirement on me :'() Needed a pint of blood when she was done.
The nail color, I'll leave to Rodman though.

Ha - that, and going to a Sesame Street musical in a month or so, and spending $20 for a ballon, $20 for the CD, $20 for a T-Shirt, and so on. And yes, I went to a Wiggles concert because the look on my daughter's face was priceless. My one year old just watched and then went to sleep on me after an hour or so. And the 8,000 seat venue was sold out.

I'm actually like the scrubbers better. They're flexible, do a better job, ...and you can get in between the toes. :D

oh, now you're going inbetween your toes with a scrubbette. I can't take it. I use a nice nailbrush.
I must admit that I'm surely taking one of those fantastic scrubby things with me in the bath next time to do my feet. I'm sick and tired of buying loofahs and pumices and nailbrushes. And yes, I go through a pack of 10 of those scourers most weeks, just doing my kitchen. I'd never thought of saving money and using them on my feet (my hands even, I'm a gardener).
I can save £100s if I start using scrubbettes.
(This is a funny thread because once, more than 10 years ago, I was sitting with a pair of people who were skin professionals. What's that called, anyways they were paid to advise the masses about skincare. And I said, well I scrub it all hard. They both said tut tut, you mustn't do that. Then I told them how old I was and they said OK, I take that back, keep on doing what you're doing...
I do have tough olive skin so it's easy for me. I doubt it works for people with fair skin or whatever.

of course not, we just use gallons of clean water.
But I don't use washcloths (flannels) either. Can't stand them. I get these little facial loofahs from the body shop and a big loofah and pumices and brushes for the feet and hands. Put them in the washing machine and they all fall apart after a few weeks and rinses, so I put them in the compost.
I think it's nylon disposable scrubbing pads from now on, one a day. can't go wrong. (Although they're not recycleable...

On the face, I prefer big thick fluffy 100% cotton washcloths... the kind that get real heavy when wet.
I just love dipping them in hot steamy water, wringing out most of the water, and letting them steam my face,
...just like the old fashioned barbershops used to do before a shave. ...except I don't shave my face. :)
