Title: 12-30-05: Did Craig Titus threaten 240 (Rob)
Post by: Mussolini on December 30, 2005, 03:41:31 PM
Rob, I thought Craig threatened to hospitalize you and didn't you make some clips flamming titus for calling out Baroni??

What made you decide to bury the hatchet?

He did.  Also had his lawyer call me, and all that fun stuff.

The page that I made helped to keep the focus on Craig/Kelly, and not on the sport of BBing. Much like Bob Chick going on NBC to say that Craig had distanced himself from the sport.  The more people know and talk about Craig, the more likely they are to know the reasons- drugs, lust, greed, illegal drugs- and LESS likely to just blindly blame steroids.

On that page, I never took a stance on whether they are guilty or not.

Shoulda kept it, bro - I still maintain the value will be higher once the trial begins, but congrats to you on making the sale.

thanks. It was pretty time-consuming, just dealing with the correspondence and legal issues. I'm much more of a production guy than a maintenance guy.

240!

1) Re-post the Titus/Baroni clips.  It's not like anyone's gonna complain about it now.

2) How much did you get got the site?

1- http://smackdaddymusic.com/baroni.htm

2- If the party that bought it wants to share, that's his choice. But I wouldn't want to put it out there.

I don't think Titus will be calling anyone in the bodybuilding/fitness industry as character witnesses, huh?

"Some boxing enthusiasts wondered why Titus' team didn't throw in the towel. Spectators say his manager/wife Kelly was unable to see the fight, as she was spotted in a compromising position with hollywood actor and superior bodybuilder/ alpha-male, Bob "Chick" Cicherillo. By the time she rose from her knees and wiped the fluids from her face, Craig Titus was already the victim of at least 75 body blows and 165 shots to the head. And Chick? He was out the door..."

I would've paid the $200 just for the traffic alone, but I knew the asking price was much higher than that and didn't want to put quite that much at risk, especially considering I'd then feel some obligation to actually maintain the site.

Nice work, 240.  It's always good to be able to reap the benefits of your labors.

The site needs to grow if its going to survive.  The news will dry up soon, perhaps somewhat increasing as the trial goes to court but things will move much more slowly in the future.  Risky purchase.  You can buy a decent amount of outright traffic for the type of fee that would have been paid.

True, but in addition to the traffic, I would've felt that I was rewarding 240's entrepreneurship.  :D

My feeling is that the site will really grow once the trial begins, so look for it to be a bit stagnant between now and then.

yeah, it was a longer-term committment, and took up too much of my time. New owner is very dedicated and able to grow it, as he works in the web/domain business.  I will still contribute and hope to give some insight to it as the trial goes on.

I knew the site was a decent idea, I knew it would take off, I intentionally declined the first two media inquiries, as the terms weren't right.  Kinda playing middle school hard-to-get.   It was a risk, but worked out.  NBC3 Vegas agreed to do a full piece on the actual website, not discuss steroids, and gave me a guarantee it'd go national on MSNBC the next day if I didn't go to FOXnews for 48 hours.  It could have backfired, but it didn't.

On to the next project...

LOL!

Perhaps Ron should do a softball interview with Vic, just so we'll have lots of fodder later.

Titus is a fuckin baby. No real business man who is looking to make real money in this world can threaten someone. You have to be calm and cool. I hope that moron rots in a jail cell and gets pounded by Bubba and the gang day after day. Titus is a bully and he got what he had coming to him.

LOL nah, i always write in a no-compete clause on any website I build and sell.

Plus, by this point, I'm getting kinda tired of reading and writing about Titus all day.

Why in god's name would you include a clause that restricts your actions, unless your customer specifically requests it?

Why in god's name would you include a clause that restricts your actions, unless your customer specifically requests it?

It's part of the package I deliver.  :D

Even if the customer HASN'T thought of this possibility, the fact that I am willing to stipulate they won't be seeing me as a compeitor does a few things ----

It gives me additional credibility / honesty in their eyes

It gives the buyer more confidence in their decision.

It helps the project I sell to RETAIN/GAIN value, so when I'm selling future projects, I can cite examples of projects I'm started that have grown.

Plus, I'm a little tired of Craig's face after spending so many hours on that site.   ;D

Rob, did you sell your site off Ebay?

i listed it, but knew with it's momentum and daily hit count, keeping it there a week would weaken its value. I put it up in the afternoon then cancelled it later that day when an agreement was reached offline.

So the buyer didn't see it or buy from Ebay?
