Is it time to stock up on Guns and Ammo?
« on: March 05, 2009, 08:40:50 PM »
I hate pessimistic thinking but it is better to be safe than sorry. Here is a link to an article about Obama's stance on guns..

http://www.rense.com/general85/plans.htm

I don't want to get political as it makes no difference who is doing it, what I'm interested in talking about is your thoughts on guns in general.

I for one truly believe that the second amendment was put in place to give citizens that ability to resist a tyrannical and controlling government and for those who oppose that view, here are some quotes from the founding fathers about the right to bear arms.

2nd Amendment - A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
“-The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government. “ Thomas Jefferson
“-The Constitution shall never be construed to prevent the people of the United States who are peaceable citizens from keeping their own arms” Samuel Adams
“-Arms in the hands of citizens may be used at individual discretion... in private self-defense.” John Adams
“-Firearms are second only to the Constitution in importance; they are the peoples' liberty's teeth.” George Washington
“-The very atmosphere of firearms anywhere and everywhere restrains evil interference - they deserve a place of honor with all that's good. “ George Washington
“-A well regulated militia, composed of the body of the people, trained in arms, is the best most natural defense of a free country.” James Madison

I have heard that there are plans to ban most of the guns that are produced, all pistols, semi-auto rifles, sporting rifles, etc. The only think that would remain "safe" would be certain hunting rifles (bolt action, small caliber). That is total BS.
There is much talk about re-instating the assault rifle ban that Clinton passed, with MUCH help from our current VP, Joe Biden. The ban would take the previous ban, add onto it and make it permanent.

If the bans don't go through, there is also much talk about instituting a LARGE excise tax of ~500%!!! Which would make many firearms prohibitively extensive and create LARGE underground/black market which would make people who like guns, criminal in their pursuit of self defense. There would also be much more dangerous ammunition on the black market, just like there are dangerous street drugs that aren't produced by pharmaceutical companies.

Take a look at the gun/ammo sales since Obama got elected. They are up 50% while the rest of the economy is down. That says something pretty strong. Buy stock in gun/ammo companies before they post their quarterly earnings!!

Time to stock up on ammo before the taxes hit? I hope, pray that this doesn't happen.

Who here owns guns and what do you own?

Here is a little "poem" about the 2nd ammendment
Quote

First came the ban on automatic assault weapons,
I did not speak up,
Because I didn't need such a weapon.

Then came the ban on “assault” weapons and “assault” ammunition,
Again I remained silent,
For I had no quarrels with anyone.

Next came the ban on pistols and newly made rifles,
I kept my mouth shut,
This made no difference as I already owned these.

Finally martial law was declared because of an “Act of terror”;
A new constitution was forged, severely limiting rights of individuals;
Gone was the right of freedom of speech, free press, the right to own property, and the right to bear arms;
Gone was Habeas Corpus and the right to a speedy, just, fair trial;

Gone were our Republics, Commonwealths, States and our Democracy,
It was already too late to speak up because we had no worthy guns with which to fight
Only when the government took actions against The People, did I truly understand the reasoning for the Second Amendment:

Encroachment upon one is an encroachment upon all.

Ammo is never going down in price and has a long shelf life.  Better to buy now while you can, even if for target shooting.

It's important to have a well armed citizenry of course.  But in the end when you put Ar-15's and shotguns up against tanks and F-22's chances are the "people" won't stand a chance if it came down to getting the government off our backs.  Especially when you have nutjobs like HH6 serving in the military who would turn his sights on Americans if his masters told him to.

BINGO!!! if you dont have equipment to reload on your own then you need to go out and invest you will save money in the long run. I dont own a vest but in all honesty ive been thinking about buying one.
