These bodybuilders do know and they get paid for posing of course. They're working with gay men who are the owners, videographers & photographers. To say " I didn't know what I was doing " is laughable indeed. Another thing is you can't take gay out of the equation in bodybuilding, because there are some people who are gay in the industry, just like in all walks of life.
The proliferation of bodybuilders being displayed as sexy has been infinitely expanded with the internet. NPC & IFBB competitors are posing for websites owned by gay men , and as I pointed out, it doesn't seem to have hurt their mainstream exposure in bodybuilding magazines, or even the IFBB as you think.
