I that’s John’s workout he is the world champ and he actually went for a new all time Open world record in his weight class today during our workout. He missed at 201.5lbs but after a lot of warmup sets and reps. He will get it and then some at the Arnold. I am the workout on the right at the bottom. I made 161.5 but didn’t have the camer on. So then I went up to 163.5lbs and somehow still didn’t have the camera rolling. But it went up easy so I put 166.5lbs on the bar which is 6.5lbs over the record for my age group and I made that. My previous PR was 158 and I did 156.5 in my December meet so 166.5 was above and beyond expectations. It’s a record if I do it in a meet. I was very happy with the lift.

OMG, who writes down their buddy's workout in their training log book?  How old is John?

John drew up the workouts before I arrived I just followed his plan. My workout ended at 161.5lbs however I didn’t record it and it went easy so we added another rep at 163.5 somehow managed to mess up the camera again but it went well so went for 166.5lbs (those 25lbers after the 45s looked pretty) the 45lbers are half a pound over and the aluminum Rogue clamps are half a pound for the pair so with the 25lb bar that's 166.5lbs made that and called it a day with a 10 rep warm down.

I strict curled 166.5lbs today and it was a clean good lift. I smashed the age group record and my PR

Todays workout on the right 36 Reps total smashed the 220lb record for my age group smashed my personal PR and only 3.5lbs away from qualifying for the Arnold felt like I had more did not fail a lift. Weighed 225lbs so right where I need to be but yeah I am small weak and doing it all wrong. The extra food and day of rest really helped.

Just one question, if you are meant to be moving the weight in a strict manner using bicep strrength only why would you need a powerlifting belt on?
Surely you are not utilising the low back during the lift...

People like you go after these weird, oddball lift records because you can't compete with the real powerlifting records. You're trying desperately to have some sort of impact but you're not, it's a curl record IF you get it. Nobody will remember your name. Squat, bench, deadlift, hell even OHP has more recognition than a curl. The very minimum you sup hould be going after would be a sumo deadlift record.o

You are not utilizing the lower back during the lift the wall prevents that. But I don't need to argue with you about it that was a great lift not many people can do that. My form was perfect. Talk all the nonsense you want but I know that was a good lift. Come July I am going to crush the age group record and qualify for the Arnold. The guy who was a 6x national champ in the 220lb weight class Open division hit a 170lb curl to win the OBX meet. I asked John about it today. I am in a great spot after just a few short months of training. I am going to crush records and qualify for big meets. You can hate from the stands.

I just set a world record in the 165 pound class.

Did a 435 pound front squat.

Everyone was in amazement and i got a lot of high fives from the older folks.

55+ Age group, 165 pound class.

I just crushed it, wasn't even close.

Everyone in the world had a chance to sign up for this meet, i'm obviously the champion.
