Seems to be an urban legend type of thing making the rounds in Michigan.  I've heard it in regards to two other schools and turned out to be bullshit both times.

If I had to guess where it is happening in Michigan - one city comes to mind:

GRAND RAPIDS.

Not true Matt, I’ve been to both places and Grand Rapids is much nicer than Thunder Bay. Thunder Bay is more like Flint or Saginaw Michigan than Grand Rapids. You need to get out and travel more Matt.

This similar story below seems ridiculous, but lately it's hard to dismiss anything woke-ish as too implausible, without more evidence. There's an associated video by the woman who claims to be the substitute teacher who was fired. Maybe a cat identification trolling campaign.  :P
