A long time ago I lived/worked in Chicago and witnessed something quite unique. In today's parlance, a "African American flash mob" formed and was headed into Bridgeport (?) to show the Mayor and "whitey" how angry and fed up they were. The mob was met by a gang of Bridgeport citizens. As the mob fled, bleeding profusely and wounded, the Chicago Police arrived and gave them Round #2.

It made me happy to know that there are people willing to put their life on the line to "Serve and Protect" the public. I have never complained or questioned police actions in a big City, urban crime setting since then.

You have to give these men credit. They know they can't count on the police because from how it sounds the police arent being given the order to do anything other than stand around as some sort of deterrent. You have to realise, the head of the English police department resigned two wks ago over a different matter and pictures showed the English prime minister meeting a female head of police. A female won't issue a zero tolerance order to her cops so this will only die down when the ethnics get bored.
