 Kevin Levrone RETURNS
Kevin Levrone is returning to competitive bodybuilding. We heard the rumors back in December - rumors that Levrone had requested an invite to the Arnold Classic - but we didn’t believe them. Now, we’re hearing them again.

This time, from the man himself. Appearing on Pro Bodybuilding Weekly on Monday, Levrone announced his return to the sport. Sort of. We think.

“It’s definitely in my plans to return to bodybuilding and win a Sandow,” Levrone said on the show. “Just like it was in my plans to turn pro. My ultimate goal is to win a Mr. Olympia and that’s what I plan to do. But I got to get started on it very soon, because the clock’s ticking.”

How long would it take to get back into contest shape? “Eighteen weeks,” Levrone said.

When pressed by hosts Dan Solomon and Bob Chicherillo, on whether or not he could be ready for this year’s Olympia, Levrone answered, “Definitely. I never trained all year round for a Mr. Olympia or any of my competitions after I tore my chest. And I do think I could be ready for the Mr. Olymipa 18 to 20 weeks from now and walk on stage probably around 245 pounds, the same way I left the stage in [2003].”

A prime Kevin could spank Heath all over the stage.

Easily. Heath is a child compared to Levrone.

If he busted out the army fatiques and enough drugs and Jack Daniel's he could easily win the O. Nothing but a bunch of blow up dolls on stage now.

If there is one pro ever that could make a successful comeback at a top level it is Kevin. I have seen him do some incredible transformations and his body is rested and fresh.

In 2006 I had Benfatto and Taylor do comebacks at nearly 50. Taylor was top 3 and looked crazy. Benfatto was 17kg heavier than his last outing in 1990. Best he ever looked!

If Kevin decided to bring it he would achieve something incredible. I would love to have him onstage at my Australian Pro March 8th 2014.

Do you think rumours about him abusing jack daniels during diet are true or is it just BS?

If it's gonna happen then well, he's couple of years late. 2008 ownwards would be easy wins. Now if Ramy is the bodybuilder we all expect and wish him to be then I don't think he can win anymore.

Killer stuff bro, but he has been cleaned up to a degree for awhile and skinny. He will explode, he isn't all that old. Is he gonna beat Heath, no. But I bet he really does it. The guy isn't the most sane person around, but he has incredible tolerance for whatever drugs and booze. He will look good again without a doubt.

The "freak" aspect of Kevin wasn't his sheer size, but his strength and how quickly he regained his musculature after spending half the year at a soft 210.

He pioneered growing into the show

Probably.... he'll probably live the longest out of any of the pros from that era.

Kevin is unique bc you could tell he never wrapped his identity up w his physique like just about every other pro.  Bodybuilding was just something he excelled at and paid the bills for him.

If anyone could make a comeback as a Master competitor, it would have to be Lee Labrada.

He is much larger and WAAAAAAY more ripped and shredded than he was in his most competitive years.

Too bad he didn't have then what he has NOW!

Lee Priest? Not so much....  ::)   ;D

larger not quite, vascular and shredded sinewy leaner possibly yes,he competed around 190 or so peak yrs 91-94 ,tailing off a bit smaller 95 before ending his run.in 80's he was 175/180 and still looked large esp arms for his height/structure.i agree he looks great and could look as good onstage as he was or close.

The "freak" aspect of Kevin wasn't his sheer size, but his strength and how quickly he regained his musculature after spending half the year at a soft 210.

He pioneered growing into the show

Very true but Arnold and the old school guys grew into shows way before Kevin did it but I know what u mean

If anyone can return at over 40 and win it, Kev can - Has incredible genetics. If he can achieve 80% of his best, he'd do it in the current line up. Don't forget the competitive "sport" is going backwards now.

Father time will not be kind even to Kevin Levrone. IF he decides to give it a go he will be a very far cry from his 2003 poor outing. Some people watch his 2003 video and dream. I say "dream on".

You guys do not understand what you are dealing with here. Dude is from another planet.

In 2002 I had Kevin at Australian Pro in March. He just placed 4th in a very ordinary lineup. Kevin was soft, small and out of shape. I was rapt to have him in the show and so were the fans but seriously he was nowhere near his best, even for guest posing he would have be under par.

So he goes home, has another 2 months off training, dieting and everything bodybuilding. In late May starts getting ready for the Olympia and in 4 months gets into maybe the best shape of his career. Places 2nd to Coleman and looks as big as he has ever been.

Just think about this for a minute. Who else at that level, at one of the toughest eras of bodybuilding could do this. No one that I can think of could even come close. Guys were spending the whole 12 months prepping for this and only Coleman could beat Kevin that year.

If he has a reason to compete, he will. It is not about money for Kevin, he lives very well. Trust me, he is set up better than most will ever be. For him it is about the challenge, the journey and the fans. Should he decide to commit to a show in 2014, then he will do it and he will nail it.

Mark my words, if anyone in this industry could ever pull this off, it is Levrone. He is that one in a million freak. I have seen him do it before. We would love to have him in my show and have had several discussions. With enough interest, he will do it.

I have had some great conversations with Kevin over the last 20 years and plenty of drinks and I can tell you all he just beats to his own drum, always has and always will.

I can tell one story about an Arnold Classic in about '94 or maybe '96. I was there with to support Sonny and I was exhausted after a long trip. Melbourne - LA - Chicago - Columbus, with delays all the way. I had frozen my arse off in the days before the show. Running around getting food, tan, oil and whatever Sonny had needed or forgotten to pack.

We get to the prejudging and as always it was a great contest at the Veterans, there was always something about the Arnold Classic atmosphere, whether it was the lighting, the distance, the crowd, I'm not sure. There was just something about that show.

Kevin had been in the top call-outs in the prejudging but was a bit off and knew that he was in for a fight to try to get back in a position to actually win the show. He was a touch smooth and lacked that separation and condition that was his trademark.

At the end of the prejudging everyone headed back to the host hotel to get ready for the finals later that night. Now this was before the rise of the guru, so it was up to each competitor to make the necessary adjustments to food, water and tan themselves.

While everyone else ran around looking for clean carbs or junk loading on burgers and candy, dropping more water or try to find a sauna to dry out more, Kevin headed for the bar. I got there at the same time, thinking I would try to have a couple of quiet ones before the finals.

I sat with Kevin and we went at it, drinking shots of heavy spirits, I think Jack at first then Vodka. We knocked them back until it was time to head to the finals. We talked about all sorts of stuff, life, family, business and cars. I was half cut and starting to slur the words a bit. Kevin was OK but definitely a bit glazed and quite chirpy. He lifted up his shirt before we left and said, I think that is what we needed. He looked like a different person.

Well Levrone, walks on stage that night about 20% better than the prejudging. His skin looked like paper, separation was back, muscles popping and dry as a chip. He won the show easily and we had a laugh about it later.

So much for the gurus!

I said TOP shape. 2002 was not his top.

and lets face it, midget<taller BB

This "Return" is anyway only return to BBing as "snake oil" salesmam not as competitive bodybuilder. Levrone should make it clear. He needs to pay his bills but why sell soul for it. Be real. Shawn Ray is with Levrone in that GEAR company and we know very good who shawn ray is.

Maybe I am wrong, maybe not.

If he really decides to make a comeback it would be BIG.

C'mon, that midget thing is getting old, and BTW, both are below 6'0 [=safe zone for winning titles]. Both guys are dangerous in top shape.
Kevin is Kevin, a great BBer, but often vague in his messages. It's not the first time that he comes with a 'come back viral'. He's also hopping from project to project. I wonder how succesful their Gear brand will be, but... Shawn is a smart marketing guy, so let's wait and see...

Normal people don't prepare 6-8 meals every day for some hulking bodybuilder, to whom they bear no relation.  Kevin HAS parents, so the foster parents theory is out.  Just because YOU salivate at the thought of living with and cooking for your favorite muscled-up hunk, does not make this normal.

Both of Kevin's parent's died of cancer...if you watched M3 or followed his career, you'd know that.

***he is very concerned that what happened to his parents, may happen to him.

Strangers sometimes help each other. He was trying to achieve something and needed help. Maybe they treated him like a son they never had, who knows. You can see in that video that he calls him "mama and papa". I am sorry that nobody helped you in your life so you ended up bitter and miserable but you know, when you're good to people good things happen to you.

I've never met him, but i have met people who know him and went to the same church as a him and his family. People who met him and trained with him have all said that he is cool people, and that he is kind...
i personally think that the drinking maybe a coping mechanism for the loss of his parents. I don't know, but many of his vids, he seems distant. Like he has other thinks on his mind other than lifting weights.
His songs are very melancholy as well.

Wow you have me figured out completely deceiver :o

Actually you are much more bitter and negative in your postings.  I suspect a steady diet of having being bullied in your formative years.  Hence why you spend so much time & effort to get strong/muscular as an adult.

How's that for casual psychoanalysis?

Dexter top 6 material

Levrone in top shape better than Dexter, but come on, there is no comeback.

Levrone should get a real job instead of this comeback crap.

Rumour has it that Kevin had more than one "sponsor" over the years. I like him as a bb but that arangement looks exactly like what it is. I love how camera cuts of as he is blabbering about how he has to go and train and focus on blah blah  ;D

Agree with Sev, I remember similar ones about a decade ago.
