I was always very skinny, first started working out around 17, took me over 5 years to put on 40 pounds, and I mean I would gorge myself with food, post workout shakes would consist of a few scoops of whey, 2 snickers bars, a few scoops of PB, a cup of oats, and a can of SlimFast chocolate flavor (I liked the taste, plus It had added vitamins), at one point in time I was religiously eating 1 double whopper before I would go to bed..no joke.Hey Jim, if I had to guess I would say between 3,000 to 3,500...maybe more some days.

1 hour a day..10 hours a day working which my job is constant walking from bar to bar monitoring the operations outdoors..have to walkto the gym on 3 of the island (about 20min to and from each gym) my body requires the energy.

I make just over 40,000 a year..but I deposit i would around 35,000 of it..no expenses. .I was making more on land as a bartender around 60,000 but saved maybe 20-25,000 a year. This job provides me with health benefits, union, paid vacations..

I'm surprised you only make $40,000 a year. Is this because there are a lot of perks like food and housing while your working? Health benefits are expensive and as you probably know, most bartenders aren't offered them either because the employer isn't doing that or because they keep your hours at part-time to avoid paying healthcare benefits. So I guess this is about a $6,000 to $8,000 added benefit.

as a bartender I only got tips..no hourly rate. .no insurance. .I made anywhere between 1,000-2,000 a week, but had to pay a lot of bills...this is where working on the ship is more beneficial.

If you make a little over $40,000 per year, how are you able to deposit $35,000 of it?

Your federal tax bracket would fall anywhere between 25-30% (roughly) and then there is state and local taxes.

At best, take home would be around 25K - 28K.
