I think an economic collapse happening in real time is unprecedented and will surpass that of the 1929 crash.  The stimulus will be printed like mad to try to reinflate the Western bubble, but it’s too late as the damage is done and the virus will come back again after the “back to work” lifting of quarantines.

Im not convinced of a total collapse. This is global unlike any other previous events. Printing in unison means currency devaluation in unison so across the board you aren't singled out.

Perhaps I’m being dramatic and I hope I’m wrong.  Working and going out to eat or shopping with masks on, isn’t going to inspire the confidence to liberally spend and incur more debt.  Frugal time preference will collapse the Western debt bubble.  The insoluble problem is precisely the public confidence issue in reopening the economy.  Fear will paralyze the economy regardless of the policy decisions.

This is the big reason why China holds the power of the USA.  For 40 years China sold their goods to us in cash.  The USA trades with numerous countries.  Oil for trees, metals etc... but China, nope, fuck trade, they want cash.  They have trillions of US dollars in their coffers.  The fear is if China ever dumps that cash on the open market and then decides to deal in Euros, that the US dollar will collapse and our entire economy will be fucked.

This is the USA's issue.  They let this happen. It's like giving your neighbor a gun a day and then 5 years later picking a fight and realizing he has an entire army that can destroy you.

Printed currency is the only real money. Anything above that is created by leverage throughout the fianncial markets.

To put it into perspective, the US has around $5,400 of printed currency per person. The QE being done is not printed currency, that will go into the already leverage system.
