Rumors Abound, Wolf Offered $1.1 Million Contract!
-Carmine Devita American Super Muscle Online
IFBB Pro Dennis Wolf is rumored to have been offered a deal worth just over $1 million, the largest in bodybuilding history, at roughly $350k a year by Gaspari Nutrition. The company could not be reached for comment, but rumors are going strong around my Atlantic City office. Athletes here in NJ have heard that other companies, notably Labrada & Ultimate Nutrition had made offers but bailed out quickly. BSN & Muscle Tech were also players until Gaspari made it clear it would go into the million-plus market to acquire Wolf.
A multi-winning Mr. Olympia has already said that Dennis Wolf will "destroy anything Cutler brings to the table in 2008." Another highly respected Mr. Olympia, Dorian Yates, had placed the current Mr. O at 3rd place last year. "With Victor out, Dexter being outsized, Phil Heath's narrow shoulders, no one will stand in Wolf's way, they have to give it to him," quipped one Mr. Universe that lives here in NJ and has close ties to the IFBB.
Another top IFBB pro living here in New Jersey, commented as follows: "they didn't want to have a top MT athlete as a single-time winner; MT spends big bucks on the circuit and the Federation was not going to have it's top athlete be the next Samir or Chris Dickerson. With two victories at the O and three at the Arnold, they can now give it to Dennis. Also after 10yrs of U.S.-born champs, it's now safe to go overseas, with Dorian being the last non-U.S. born champ way back in 1997."
I for one don't think Nutrex can go the distance with GN, however, my sources in Germany say Nutrex is playing it like this, anything top offer made to Dennis, they'll match plus add 15% over the top. I'm not sure how credible this is, but if the Gaspari offer is legit, Nutrex may have to pay Wolf nearly $400,000 per annum. Wow!

wolf is my n*gga, i hope this is true!
he deserves every last bit of it.
a bodybuilder getting money? paid like this!?
why not! it puts a positive outlook on the sport for once.
the days of broke-ass bodybuilding can slowly become a thing of the past
if the supplement companies start paying the bucks the guys deserve.
Props to Wolf.

Gaspari would be an idiot to pay any bodybuilder this kind of money. $$$ down the drain.
-
they'd be crazy to offer any bodybuilder desperate for $$$ a million bucks when they'll do it for 50K. ::)

Apparently Flex Lewis isn't giving the company what they were expecting... whatever that means...

I call b.s.
I think that pro bodybuilders should share in the wealth they help to generate, and I hope he is getting offered that kind of money, but I don't think he is based upon the fact you could get someone for a WHOLE lot less.
-
didnt paul dillet also get millions for signing?

To put things into prospective with other industries.........this is from 2006
Nike has inked Tiger Woods to a new contract. Details as to how much dough Tiger got this time haven’t been released but the terms “substantially more than his last contract” have been spoken. Tiger’s last contract was for 5 years at $100 million. “Substantially more” than $100 million is really an insane number, whatever it is.
Astronomical money nuggets
Nike makes about $500 million a year on golf stuff, so the $20 million they were paying Tiger before was certainly a good investment. Interestingly, that $500 million is only 3 percent of Nike’s total revenue.
Tiger made $96.7 million last year, making him the top money making “athlete
For as long as BBing has been around surely they can do better than that!!

And compare the money and effort a BB has to put into his "sport" to a golfer. ::)

Bodybuilding doesn't generate any money, so bodybuilders don't get paid a lot.

After almost 100 years it should, I'm quite sure they're not doing this for their health.

effort? Its a life you live!
these fag golfers show up on a sunday, wack a few balls and walk around the course. (well they dont walk much...the cart brings them around...but they're still athletes somehow. ::) )

Not allowed to use carts in tournaments........and I can assure it's a hell of alot harder to play below par golf than it is to bodybuild.
And if you think it's so easy then just go make some shots for a few million.

Gold requires skill.Take a look at how many GREAT athletes cant golf worth a dam,no matter how hard they work at it[Michael Jordan and Charles Barkley being two].Bodybuilding requires no skill at all.It requires incredible dedication, discipline and desire, even knowledge, but ZERO skill.

I remember you said that you make tons of money of your shitty tiny site ::), so your huge superior brain didn't noticed there are a million sites like your, did you forgot you buy products from nutrition companies?
Supplements companies make plenty of money, a million dollar is nothing for a big company in the field.

shari also signed with puma. i believe him.
