The Blair Witch Project was quite creepy.
The Ring is worth watching as well.

lol U must be kidding. Serbian Film is a comedy. The producers were trying so hard and desperately to "push the envelope" it's just laughable and can't be taken serious for one second.

Yeah, that's you and me, but think about the folks who get spooked by crap like "Paranormal Activity" or those "Insidious" movies. There are certain, ahem, themes in "A Serbian Film" that would significantly disturb them.

"Martyrs", french horror movie from a few years ago was tough, beats the shit outta you.

Without a doubt Martyrs was the most disturbing movie I have ever seen in my entire life. Was a good movie, but I swore I would never watch it again.

Communion and Night of The Demons both scared the hell out of me as a kid. Communion had me cautious of slightly opened doors for years. Haha

Ah! I saw the one! Messed me up for about a month.  ;D

Just something about alien abduction movies that freak me out beyond belief.

Also, Tucker & Dale vs. Evil. Not a true horror. More into the horror/comedy genre, but an awesome film nonetheless.

not all abductions are scary 8)
not sure if you read books but if you do check out 'The Contact has Begun' and 'The Challlenge of Contact' by Phillip Krapf. Good stuff.

Will do! Thanks for the recommendations. I've read Communion and Confirmation by Whitley Strieber. Both give really off setting tones on alien abduction.

The ones I remember when I was a kid - not strictly horror - were:

Alien
Invasion of the Bodysnatchers (70s version)

Alien is definitely a sci-fi horror movie.  The chest-burster was one of the most shocking scenes in movie history.

Invasion of the Bodysnatchers was a pretty creepy movie back in 1978.
