Probably because it's simple to get 18" arms on drugs. In fact, it's pretty easy to put on 30-50lbs with drugs. So, someone saying they did it natural, means on their own, without bullshit.

And seeing as how so many need drugs just to make it to a gym these days, it makes sense to claim...natural or without drugs. It separates the pretenders, from the real bodybuilders.
How's that.

You make it seem like gear works miracles. I have had a bunch of friends who juiced and sure they made gains but nothing unworldly...
