plenty of congressmen have gone to prison and Nixon's AG (John Mitchell) served 19 months in prison. Spiro Agnew (Nixon's VP got a suspended sentence)

also keep in mind that we've never had a POTUS like Trump who spent years and years running what was likely a criminal enterprise. The guy who knows all about it is Michael Cohen and he's almost certainly already cooperating with NYC (and don't forget that he went to jail and Trump would have gone too if he weren't POTUS)
