If branch was top 6, don't see why Flex couldn't be top 5. I know he said he had a grueling travel schedule these past couple years and hasn't been able to go all out so well see.

See William Bonac's placing to understand what the judges think of 212 guys in the open.

No way! That'd mean he'd beat Ramy & Victor. Put him next to either & you won't be able to see him. That's why they created the 212 & why he does the 212

Why wouldn't he beat those guys? Lee Labrada never weighed more than 200 his entire career onstage. Yet, repeatedly defeated guys like Paul Dillett. He beat 315-lb Lou Ferrigno in 1993.

No disrespect to Flex, he's an incredible bodybuilder but u cannot compare him to the greatest under 200lb bodybuilder in the history of the sport. Ferrigno & Dillette also had much bigger flaws that Vic & Ramy.

he could be 4th, he could be 11th in the Open class.  ya just never know with that judging.

I wouldn't call Labrada the greatest under-200-lb bodybuilder in history, not with four guys under 200 lb. with Sandows (Franco Columbu, Frank Zane, Chris Dickerson, and Labrada's former brother-in-law, Samir Bannout).

Flex Lewis is more complete than Elssbiay. Victor Martinez isn't quite where he was, before his knee injury. So, I can see Flex beating him, too.

nothing was wrong with the judging except for the ppl who would've complained no matter what. It was a fair call in the top 6.

Columbo, Zane nor Dickerson wouldn't hv won the O or even been top 2, like Labrada was against the competition Labrada faced; neither could've beaten Shawn Ray for example.  Samir, in '83, no argument there.

Flex is more complete than Ramy but but gives up way too much size to even be competitive. Flex would've had a chance at top 10 but not top 4.

The 212 conditioning embarrasses most of the open class. I know they are smaller but take dorian or prime ronnie. They never lost that insane condition.

that said I don't like how unwell you have to be to achieve that dryness.

the judges allowed one of the competitors to stand any place he pleased.  If your name is heath or your name is Pelitier, you should NOT be allowed to do that.

No......Frank Zane in his prime was a better bodybuilder than Shawn Ray.

Period, end of story.

No. No period. No end of story. That's just your opinion. Frank Zane was a great bber for his time and the type of physique most would want over any of the other bbers of that era and now. But strictly as a bber, using bbing standards, Zane wasn't even close to Shawn Ray. Zane never came remotely close to having the muscle mass and proportions that Shawn carried. Look at it this way: far, far more people today can achieve the level that Zane achieved in his prime in terms of muscular development. Very few can attain Shawn Ray's level. Even today on the Olympia stage. Zane would have been even greater if he had more muscle. Something he could never achieve during his era.

Of course this is my opinion and I would never have the arrogance to claim to be the final word on any subject.

Yes look at this line up, nothing like the O. Tony Freedman can't even qualify.

How many Mr. Olympia titles does Shawn Ray have? How many does Frank Zane have?

How many times was Ray judged by his peers to be the best bodybuilder on the planet?

More size is exactly the opposite of what Zane believed. Frank Zane on Shawn Ray's drug stack would be a better bodybuilder. Way too many people buy into this myth that Zane had no muscle mass.

If Flex was in the open this year, and I was judging, it would have went like this.

1.  Phil
2.  Kai
3.  Shawn
4.  Dennis
5.  Dexter
6.  Ramy
7.  Victor
8.  Flex Lewis
9.  Branch
10. Juan Morel
11. Steve Cuckold

Honestly, from head to toe, Flex is probably the most complete bodybuilder on the planet.  No missing body parts.  Great conditioning. No bloat or distention.  Calves, glutes, he's got it all.  Also heard that for a 212 guy that he packs a pretty hefty cawk.

No one says a thing because Flex actually deserved to win.
