i had to do it about 2 months ago, hard as hell, spray some Shout on the paper and then score it with a wallpaper scorer, you can get one at Lowe's or Home Depot for about 4 bucks.

careful with scoring the paper.  Sometimes it goes to deep and tears up the dry wall paper and that means a skim coat

Didn't ~flower~ purchase some super-duper steamer for that purpose back when you were contemplating getting the Shark?

Yeah!

I pulled off the top layer (string cloth or something :P ) ...now there is paper and glue.  The paper that is there soaks liquid right in..I just need to make sure the glue comes off when I soak the paper.

I don't think it's drywall under there but won't need to score it at this point.

Never heard of using Shout.  Saw a "recipe" w/fabric softener though.

Steamer and putty knife.  Then clean the hell outta the wall with soap and water and let dry.  Then spackle if needed, prime, and paint.

removing wallpaper is NEVER as easy or straightforward as it seems, it's ALWAYS a mess.

Maybe I'll be injured when we tear out the closet :-\

Tore off the top layer and am rolling DIF gel on the bottom layer...tearing that off and then rolling on DIF again, waiting, and scraping off the glue....then washing w/a hot towel.

Wallpaper=da debil >:(

I used and iron on high steam setting and held it very close to the wall...after steaming that small section glue would scrap off easily...took a while to do the room...I think you can rent steam/wallpaper removers from Home Depot, Etc...

Good luck and play some good music while you work :)
