With another Olympia come and gone we see Phil Heath becoming a dominant force in pro bodybuilding. Time will tell if he can continue to dominate.
Our own Branch Warren fell to a disappointing 5th place. Very few know but Branch suffered another devastating injury 6 weeks out from the show. This time he tore his right groin muscle while riding his horse for the Pumping Iron documentary.
The film crew waved a boom mike in front of his best horse and it reared and bucked Branch off. Tore the groin but also severely bruised his tailbone and got a concussion.    This took several weeks to get over and we were never able to push the right leg  after that.
This caused the leg to lose all the gains he'd made since the Arnold and was an object of criticism from the "experts".
While still not at his best I feel he should have placed higher as his overall hardness and density was still there. But I'm not a judge so he will now take off from all shows in 2013 but the Olympia. This will give him a chance at a real off season for the first time in many years.
