Out of everyone ever in pro-wrestling who would you guys picks to be your champions. World, IC, Tag, and Womans Title.

-Many say the best tag team in history-
Womans Champ - Trish Stratus
-People say the best womans in 20 years. How can you go wrong-
-
World ---- Ric Flair
IC ---- Me as the 4th Horseman
World Tag-team --- Arn and Tully
;D
-

IC Champion = Randy Savage
United States Champion = Ricky Steamboat
Tag Champs = Road Warriors

I agree on all of these..... great choices.

I agree on all of these..... great choices.
Flair especially is a perfect example of a World Champion. He went to WCCW, GCW, Japan, etc, etc, etc all over the world wrestling 7 days a week against that territory's top dog defending his title successfully. Even Hogan didn't do that. Thus Flair being my choice.
Arn & Tully where a hairline away being my second choice as tag champs.
Barry Windham was a close call for the US title for me as well.

I loved Windham, but I would probably give the 2nd place nod to Greg Valentine. He was WAY over in mid-atlantic when I was a kid and always involved in the US title picture.
Arn and Tully are always forgotten in TT discussions these days. I saw them wrestle the RnR express a few times and both of those teams could flat-out put on a show.

Ahhhh...I forgot about Valentine. I think his wrestling ability is grossly overlooked. Magnum T.A is another choice for the United States title.

the Magnum vs Nikita series was brilliant booking.... I'd have to put Wahoo in the hunt too.

Nikita Koloff....another wrestler I forgot about that was / is totally talented.
Wahoo is a given to anyone watching wrestling in that era. Flair in his DVD is high on Wahoo.

Yeah, Flair was very appreciative of Wahoo in his book, too. He was old-school and a stiff wrestler, but I never read anyone say one negative thing about him....

Sad shit about Magnum T.A. He was a perfect face for the NWA until that car accident that retired him in late '86.

TA was primed to be HUGE. For that time period, he was the perfect face and by all accounts a very professional and great guy. He is amazing with his attitude now about everything......he should write a book too.....I don't think he has.

No, I don't believe he has either but he is another wrestler who IMO was drastically under-rated.

I think of that time period as so exciting because it was right before the corporate side of things took over...JCP and GCW becoming WCW, WWF going totally cartoonish for awhile, etc..... all those guys really paved the way for the guys now, but I doubt half the guys on the WWE roster can name 10 guys from that period and REALLY know anything about them.

I agree. But they are all "Tough Enough" winners so they think they know it all. ::)
Look at the past tough ENough / Diva search winners. Maven, Nidia, Christie Hemme, etc...some that didn't win were called to train in OVW and made it to the big show anyway...are they good? Absolutely not. They stinka nd are mid to low card to dark match wrestlers at best.

Only one I'd add to the mix is the "Original Rock," Don Muraco.

Damn good workers.
Steamboat said he could always count on Muraco to be there for the spots.
-
I really liked the Muraco vs Snuka feud too. It was Muraco who first actually took the death leap from the top of the cage...

I remember that too....when Snuka dove off the top of the cage. It was unheard of back then. Some great memories there.

We had USA network at that time, and they would show some WWF, so I actually got to see it......that was surreal for that time period. EVERY person in the bldg was on their feet when Snuka climbed to the top.....could barely see him for all the flashbulbs going off when he was standing on top....awesome.

Lol...the good old days of just a spotlight on the ring. No music, no pyro.

Those old vids have such a better look than the over lighting they use now..... I actually kinda feel bad for the workers, as it takes away some of their ability to communicate and I think it takes away from the "real" look of the old stuff. Not to mention the damn cameras practically, and sometimes literally, being in the ring.

There's always a cameraman standing on the ring apron now...not to mention the twenty japanese photographers at ringside during a big WM event.

What's gone too far is playing music for a run-in. I know, in this era, it's silly to think in terms of logic, but, how would the audio guy know in advance?
"Hey Mr. Audio Guy, my buddy is getting his ass kicked in the ring. I'm about to go in and save him. Could you get my music ready?"

haha, Lizzy me and a buddy have had that conversation before.....too funny. And during the "backstage" or outside vignettes, I can remember the Horsemen using a "camera man" when they roughed up Dusty in a parking lot. At least they tried, now they make it virtually impossible to suspend belief for a couple of hours.

In the old days, I would figure out who was doing the run in before Bob Caudill.

haha, Bob was too drunk to know what was happening and that was before you started drinking.....I think.

Apparently after that incident, people wanted the horsemen arrested for real. Thats how big of a face and people person Dusty was.

You guy consider Ric Flair one of the best talkers of all time. I think from early 80's in NWA to 91-92 when he left the NWA-WCW to go to WWF personaly I think there was not one better.
