Jerry R. Kane, 45, and his 16-year-old son Joseph Kane fatally shot two police officers and wounded two others during a wild shootout Thursday, according to Arkansas state police.
The father and son were shot and killed during the battle on the streets of West Memphis, Arkansas.
The Anti-Defamation League said the two suspects belonged to "an extreme right-wing movement that believes that virtually all existing government in the United States is illegitimate and which seeks to restore an idealized, minimalist government "
The Southern Poverty Law Center, a nonprofit civil rights organization, also said the two member are part of the "sovereign citizen" movement.

Dems have won the last 7 straight special elections.
Repubs will gain ground in 2010, but claiming either house will be very difficult. Getting both will require a miracle. Many republicans are counting their chickens already - but Repub enthusiam to vote returned to pre-obamacare levels in about a month. Voters have goldfish memories. They can tell you who they are voting for in next week's american idol finale... but actually making it to a polling station in Nov is harder.
So keep on plugging away at the goal of restoring some balance in washington... but 'leading in poll' doesn't mean jack. If this anti-incumbent sentiment peaks during primary time and not election time, it's business as usual dude.
