If sedan’s are foreign, you drive a truck and haven’t owned a car for 30yrs You aren’t the target market for an Audi RS stron of Porsche whereas I am. So when I say Tesla has awesome bang for buck it’s because AMG would offer me much better performance, styling, brand. Now on electric car offerings Mercedes, Audi, Porsche offer me worse performance, worse range, great styling, brand for 2x-3x my money.

I’m not the only petrol head looking to move to a Tesla. That’s a huge problem for the Germans. A wickedly quick electric VW golf is what will help bail them out.

I had about a 5 year span where I owned two Land Rovers and a Jaguar...SUVs. Poor choices...nice interiors...high novelty factor in the Midwest. Two of the three stopped running due to electrical issues and had to be towed to dealer less at than a year old.

Nobody will even work on a German car out where I am now. VW...haha...buddy of mine has a new Cayenne. Seems nice. Glad he owns it and not me.

It has always been about the battery. Every plug in machine and small electric device uses an induction motor, but with a car the load is too big and distances travelled are too far.

Tesla Model 3 this year overtook the Toyota Camry for best selling sedan. Toyota held the number 1 spot for 18yrs.

We are looking at electric cars and nothing gets close to bang for buck Tesla offer. Most other manufacturers have very poor distance, not just crap power.

Yes, on a carbon level it’s a bit iffy but do we really care? I don’t.

If fuel went to USD13/gallon you would see a huge shift in thinking towards electric cars. Nobody will give a fuck about whether it’s carbon neutral or not, they’ll simply want something that allows them to move around.

Besides, tech moves in steps rather than leaps. We had hybrids and after that electric came. No doubt we will move to something else.
