Indian outsourcing firm Infosys commits to creating 10,000 US jobs

https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2017/05/02/indian-outsourcing-firm-infosys-commits-to-creating-10000-us-jobs.html

Infosys is joining a growing list of international firms that are pledging their support for American jobs.
The Indian outsourcing firm announced Tuesday it is creating 10,000 jobs in America over the next two years.

Infosys, India's iconic outsourcing firm, is also opening four new technology and innovation hubs across the U.S. that will train American workers in areas like cloud, artificial intelligence and big data. The first hub will launch in August 2017 in Indiana, which alone will create 2,000 U.S. jobs by 2021.
"Learning and education, along with cultivating top local and global talent, have always been the core of what Infosys brings to clients; it is what makes us a leader in times of great change. In helping our clients improve their businesses and pursue new kinds of opportunities, we are really excited to bring innovation and education in a fundamental and massive way to American workers," Infosys CEO Vishal Sikka said in the announcement.
"It's so good to welcome Infosys to Indiana, and to expand our growing tech ecosystem with the addition of their estimated 2,000 Hoosier jobs," Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb said in the release.
The announcement follows President Donald Trump's "Buy American, Hire American" executive order, which called for the H-1B visa program to be reviewed. Any changes to the H1-B program could hurt Infosys, which has benefited from the specialized worker non-immigrant visa. Wall Street analysts have already warned that any changes or restrictions to the H1-B program would hurt India's outsourcing sector, which relies on business from the U.S.
In fact, more than half of Infosys's sales comes from the U.S., and Lockheed Martin, U.S. Army, U.S. Navy and IBM are just some of the clients it has served.

Apple Announces $1 Billion Fund For U.S. Manufacturing Jobs – Is $230 Billion Repatriation Deal Next?

Yesterday in an interview with CNBC’s Jim Cramer, Apple ($AAPL) CEO Tim Cook said the tech giant would be devoting $1 billion to promote “advanced manufacturing” jobs in the United States.

“We’re announcing it today. So you’re the first person I’m telling,” Cook told “Mad Money” host Jim Cramer on Wednesday. “Well, not the first person because we’ve talked to a company that we’re going to invest in already,” he said, adding that Apple will announce the first investment later in May. –CNBC

And while yesterday’s $1b announcement doesn’t necessarily mean iPhone manufacturing will to move the US, it does add Apple to a long list of U.S. companies focused on jobs in the United States. In the weeks after the November 8th election, companies including Ford, Carrier, General Motors, and Wal Mart made commitments to increasing or keeping jobs in the United States, in an effort to avoid a 35% tariff Trump had threatened on imports.

U.S. House passes healthcare bill in big win for Trump
reuters ^ | May 4, 2017 | David Morgan and Yasmeen Abutaleb

The U.S. House of Representatives approved a bill on Thursday to repeal major parts of Obamacare and replace it with a Republican healthcare plan, handing President Donald Trump his biggest legislative victory but setting up a tough fight in the Senate.

With the 217-213 vote, Republicans obtained just enough support to push the legislation through the House, sending it to the Senate for consideration. No Democrats voted for the bill.

The bill's passage represented a vital step toward fulfilling a top Trump campaign pledge and a seven-year Republican quest to dismantle Democratic former President Barack Obama's signature healthcare law. But the effort now faces new hurdles in the Senate, where the House bill will have difficulty gaining Republican support.

Labor market bounces back, adds 211,000 jobs as unemployment rate falls

The labor market bounced back in April amid milder weather as employers added 211,000 jobs, providing evidence that weakness the prior month was a blip that likely won’t keep the Federal Reserve from raising interest rates in June.

The unemployment rate, which is calculated from a different survey, fell to 4.4% from 4.5%, the Labor Department said Friday.

Economists expected 190,000 job gains, according to the median estimate of a Bloomberg survey.

US created 211,000 jobs in April, vs 185,000 jobs expected

Job creation in April bounced back from a disappointing March, with nonfarm payrolls growing by 211,000 while the unemployment rate fell to 4.4 percent, its lowest since May 2007.
Economists surveyed by Reuters had been expecting payroll growth of 185,000 and the headline jobless rate to tick up one-tenth to 4.6 percent.
Wages grew seven cents an hour to an annualized pace of 2.5 percent.
The unemployment rate dropped even as the labor force participation rate edged lower to 62.9 percent. The employment-to-population ratio increased to 60.2 percent, its best showing of 2017 and the highest level since February 2009.

Edward Crawford, Jr., the man whose image became the defining moment in the Ferguson protests, is dead.

Crawford was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, and police are trying to determine if it was accidental or suicide.

Crawford's dad told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, "I don't believe it was a suicide," adding cops are being "hush-hush" about the investigation.

The photo symbolized the tensions between police and protester in the wake of Michael Brown's death. Cops hurled a tear gas canister at protesters ... Crawford picked it up and hurled it back.

Crawford was 27 and the father of 4 children.

A Yuge win for President Donald Trump (Saturbray)
www.brayincandy.com ^ | 5/6/17 | bray
Posted on 5/6/2017, 9:24:04 AM by bray

For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. Mark 13:6

When you have a jar broken into a million pieces and you try to put it back together it is not going to look as good as it did originally. The Democrat Party purposely broke the insurance industry through Marxist mandates since they knew better than the free market and hate capitalism. They made sure to put every liberal wish list and believed if you could make the yout and rich pay for it, the plan would work since they are all so much smarter than those insurance actuaries. What they were really attempting was the destruction another targeted industry and the installation of Gummit hospitals where they decide who lives and dies and what you have to agree to for survival.

Two actuaries were out hunting rabbits. As they were sitting and talking a jackrabbit runs across an opening and the first one shoots hitting just below him. A bit later a second one streaks across the opening and he hits just above it. They both start jumping up and down shouting, “We hit it, we hit it!” Actuary jokes are few and far between, but this is no laughing matter or one we can play politics. No matter what the plan is nobody is going to like it since we are trying to make a broken glass to hold water. The question is how do you make insurance affordable for someone who is getting millions of dollars’ worth of healthcare a year? Do you cover them or let them die? You cover them.

The idea of insurance was invented by Ben Franklin to share the risk of rebuilding a house if it burned down and then spread to other risks including life and health. The hardest to insure is health since trying to spread the risk among healthy people to cover the unhealthy and aged is nearly impossible. You have to have enough young men whose only real risk is accident which is a low cost use to pay for the birthing women and elderly who use it more frequently and are more costly. Mostly you have to pay for the lawyers who leach onto the healthcare industry. The idea is to entice young men who do not use doctors to pay for something they hope they never need when they would rather spend their hard earned dollars on a fast Vette and a Brunette.

The Marxist solution as always is Central Planning in the model of their first love, Russia. They want Moscow on the Potomac to replace the insurance industry and nationalize all the hospitals. Once this is done you will have to have every doctor and medical care approved by the State and you become its slave. They can then develop a matrix which says who does and does not receive their heart surgery or cancer treatments based on their criteria deciding literally who lives and dies. You just have to hope a regime as corrupt as Odumbo does not take power and slip your Party affiliation into that matrix and make their decisions on those criteria as they apparently did for who gets spied on by the NSA. Even they are not sick enough to affect elections through life and death decisions, no really.

According to Alexandr Sotzhenitsyn this is exactly how the Soviet system worked. They had Party member hospitals and the rest of the Soviet Union clinics. Neither of them received American type medical coverage, but Party members had as good a care as was possible and non-Party citizens which was the remaining ninety percent received substandard care where you brought your own sheets and had family members bring you food until you were released to die at home with a handful of pills. This is very similar to the Blue Pill Barak Hussain talked about for the eighty year old grandmother needing heart surgery. How can some bureaucrat a thousand miles away decide who gets heart surgery and who does not? This is a doctor’s decision for his patient who he has sworn to keep on the voter rolls..er alive.

This is their goal to make our healthcare just as the substandard healthcare of their Marxist Motherland. President Trump and the Repubs scored an important victory to stop this takeover. It is not the plan most of Trump’s supporters wanted or the plan it will eventually become, but it is the first step. The most important piece of this bill is the ability of states to walk away from O-care and let them experiment on their own plans.

This is the first step of being able to allow the market to invent plans to cover the uninsurable. They now have high risk pools they are inventing while the gummit subsidizes them to start which eventually can walk away from and let the insurance industry fund the pools as they figure out how to make them marketable. In a transit society these are the toughest ones to insure.

Of course Hollywierd is pushing the Obama plan as the greatest thing since Social Security. Never mind none of them are paying $15K a year with $5K deductibles, they have group insurances with very low premiums and co-pays. Jimmy Kimmel gets up and pretends he is a regular person and his newborn has a heart defect that happens to hundreds of babies per day and then used his baby as a club to beat up President Trump’s plan.

He overstated the issue as he in no way was at risk of having to pay for the half million dollar surgery, although he should have volunteered to pay it so someone else could have it done for their kid. He makes twenty million a year so it was hardly a burden most Americans face. His son was never in risk of not having coverage since he is covered under Kimmel’s policy at birth and the defect will be insurable in five to ten years if no complications which is normally the case.

If Kimmel was something other than a political hack he would have simply thanked the doctors, nurses, hospital and whichever pagan god he worships and left the Obama speech out of it, but like all Democrats he had to let us know he is superior and had to lecture America and use his newborn son as a baseball bat.

Nobody should like the new plan and will not. One of the important pieces it does have is a medical expense savings plan which dollars invested get tax offsets. These plans can be saved like an IRA and you can grow them throughout your life making it attractive to young men and women. This leads to more and more self-insurance which is the goal for market based care. It lowers the claims processed which is a large expense for the industry and makes the user more accountable for their own care and forces competition into the health industry.

This is a Yuge victory for President Trump and the Repubs. If he can push this past McCain then the unraveling of MarxCare can begin without the pain and suffering which is happening now and far worse coming. Most self insured over fifty are seriously considering dropping their coverage and risking a cataclysmic disease rather than paying ridiculous premiums. This plan begins the process of buying bare bone coverage to cover that onetime event while taking care of the minor surgeries through the savings plan.

This bill is a giant first step of slowing the momentum of the Titanic and hopefully missing the iceberg. If nothing else it is an attempt to help Americans hurting from the reckless attempt by the Dems to fundamentally destroy our insurance system. They stopped the possibility for healthcare to be used as a tool to enslave Jimmy Kimmel and force him to say what they want for approval to save his son’s life.

Pray America woke

Trump Says ‘No’ To A Global Cap-And-Trade Plan
dailycaller.com ^ | 05/05/2017
Posted on 5/7/2017, 2:22:54 AM by Helicondelta

The Trump administration said it would not be considering using an international cap-and-trade program to meet former President Barack Obama’s pledge to cut greenhouse gas emissions as part of the Paris agreement on climate change.

The Department of State gave generic, boilerplate responses to questions countries posed regarding aspects of America’s commitment under the Paris agreement.

At one point, China asked the Trump administration if it would consider an “international market mechanism” in place of Obama-era policies to cut emissions. The Trump administration said, “No.”

“Does the U.S. have any plan or preliminary thoughts on using international market mechanism to accommodate recent changes?” China asked in questions submitted through the U.N.

“If still not, what additional measure will the U.S. consider to take to achieve the 2020 target?” China asked.

“On the first question, no,” the Trump administration responded.

China joined the EU and others in pressing the Trump administration on how it plans to cut emissions and fight global warming while also rolling back policies the Obama administration put in place.

“On the second question, the Administration is reviewing existing policies and regulations in the context of a focus on strengthening U.S. economic growth and promoting jobs for American workers, and will not support policies or regulations that have adverse effects on energy independence and U.S. competitiveness,” was the administration’s answer to most questions.

WORLD: AFGHANISTAN ISIS LEADER CONFIRMED KILLED

http://www.newsweek.com/isis-afghanistan-us-forces-islamic-state-abdul-hasib-595997

The head of Islamic State in Afghanistan, Abdul Hasib, was killed in an operation on April 27 conducted jointly by Afghan and U.S. Special Forces in the eastern province of Nangarhar, U.S. and Afghan officials said on Sunday.

Hasib, appointed last year after his predecessor Hafiz Saeed Khan died in a U.S. drone strike, is believed to have ordered a series of high profile attacks including one in March 8 on the main military hospital in Kabul, a statement said.

Last month, a Pentagon spokesman said Hasib had probably been killed during the raid by U.S. and Afghan special forces in Nangarhar during which two U.S. army Rangers were killed, but prior to Sunday's announcement there had been no confirmation.

"This successful joint operation is another important step in our relentless campaign to defeat ISIS-K in 2017," the top U.S. commander in Afghanistan, Gen. John Nicholson said in a statement from U.S. military headquarters in Kabul.
