Bodybuilding shows are so hard on the body. Combine those with other health problems and his age then it's not such a suprise.

Although AAS may not be the true culpret of Don's death I am sure they perhaps escalated his health problems.

As for Momo I cannot say but as for Andreas, he took BBing to the extreme. This guy did not beleive in and offseason and was always in shape. It is not healthy for a body to be soo low in bodyfat for long amounts of time.IMO no one else has ever been as shredded as Andres...Just look at his tricep in the attached picture.

This will always be an ongoing battle..

Do steroids cause problems?

Let's look at 2 greats

Arnold - recently had heart complications and needed surgery

and we have Louie, competed almost as many years, may/may not have been using the same AAS as Arnold and no complications we are aware of.

or Kevin Levrone and Flex Wheeler...both in the game about the same time frame, probably used the same amount of gear. Flex has to retire due to kidney problems and Ke decides to call it quits

Maybe not great comparisons but I think you get my drift.

In my mind does AAS use/abuse directly cause Death? No! Will it advance any current problems one has, ie: hairloss, CV problems, kidney problems ......YES!

Arnold's probs were congenital, nothing to do with using.

The health problems are related to drug use and dietary constrictions, not training.

No but if you look good with say 10 mgs of Dbol a day why not try 20 to look even better

This is the thought process with alot of ppl. Or they build up a tolerance of what they are using and need to up the dose irregardless.

Yeah, but can you prove they are directly related to bodybuilding?

I think we can chalk up Munzer and Benaziza to BBing pretty directly... Momo dead within hours of drying up for the dutch grand prix (which he won) and Munzer's whole internal organs just turned to goo on him while on a precontest diet.

At the very least if they had not been taking monster amounts of drugs and partaking in extreme diets they would have had a better shot.

we're all going to fall apart when we get old.  Much of it is genetic.  But BBing extremes can speed up the process, and sometimes deliver problems you may never have seen.  That's life though... there could still be a piece of Skylab with your name on it as well.

That pic of youngblood, is why ive never been interested in joining the steroid roller coaster.  Some of my friends continue to use yearround, and theyre all red and puffy all the time.   Like theyre going to blow up or something.    They cant walk 50 feet without sitting down....sad.

This illustrates the sheer fucking 'load of balls' non issuse this is

Both of these guys died from drugs yes, but DIFFERENT FUCKING DRUGS

If you want to look at the guys who have suffered deaths that 'may' be linked purely to anabolic steroids (ie: guys whom did not observably suffer death from diurectic input, nor coke, nor heroin or other 'street recreationals') then you will be looking for a very long time

Whether diuretics, NSAIDS or whatever crap some prick bodybuilder with a priority for a shitty trophy rather than life itself decides to take, these are the lovlies that are and have been observably responsile for guys fucking themselves up, I mean christ, we can only wish that Shawn Ray mounts a comeback and loads up on Loop diuretics with an Advil chaser

The fact is that the long list of deaths of famous bodybuilders 'from steroids over the next twenty years' hasnt materialised, thats why these cunts in the media/medical game keep pushing their timeline back

They started saying this crap back in the 70's, then the 80's, then, when gear was illegalised in the 90's we had the same 'in twenty years' crap thrown at us, and hey, its now 2006 and what do we hear? we hear fuckwits such as Dr Harrison Pope repeating 'in twenty years time' quel suprise

BLAH FUCKING BLAH, FUCK OFF!!

cunts

Exactly.  When used in  moderation it is a form of Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) that adds to the quality--and cosmetics--of a man’s life.  In time, this will become a routine ‘treatment’ for men as they get older much as HRT is for women now.  Of course, like anything, if taken to an extreme it can be deleterious.

I have seen this pic so many times, but am always amazed by how out of shape he looks for a guy who was about to get ready for a contest.

Ah, the voice of inexperience. He does not look “out of shape.”  He looks like all the big boys do before they start their dieting.  Have you seen the many photos of Dorian in the off season?  Or even the training clips of him from Blood and Guts?  Much to learn, you still have.
