the purpose is to reduce some of the incidents and more importantly to reduce the amount of death and carnage

Nothing it going to stop all violence just like seatbelts don't prevent all auto deaths

they just help reduce the severity of the accidents

Looks like most of the stats show violent crime increases with stronger gun control.  Why do you want to see an increase in violent crimes straw?  I think that's been pointed out a few dozen times too but you must think it's bullshit or you're ingoring it lol.
