Maryland trooper shoots and kills teenager who had airsoft gun



I could have sworn we use to literally sit on the porch with our bb guns when I was a kid.

Dude this has been an issue since the early 90s. These types of guns needed the bright red or orange pierces to distinguish them from real gun.  Then people used sharpies to color over those pieces.

Also why was the race of the cop and victim not disclosed?

Telling the dispatchers “Probably” or “might be” means what? It means they’re not sure which in turn means don’t take any chances. During press conference the spokesman said the officers drove up, ordered the kid to show his hands then he (the kid) brandished the firearm...as sad as this was the cops were 100% in the right. Had zero to do with color so don’t even try going there.

when I was a kid toy guns always used to be bright colours , you would never have mistaken them for a real gun

They should always assume the gun is real.

If I was a cop I would shoot first every single time if someone had a gun regardless of my percentage guess of it being fake or not
