The hydroxy is not clear, there have been multiple studies showing no benefit and worse cardiac outcomes, the recent study showed some benefit when taken early but that was an outlier study. I think he heard it might be helpful and it looks like its not really all that helpful, possibly harmful and maybe spoke to soon. This wouldn't be uncommon in laymen though, usually drugs need many many studies to tell. I do agree people jumping on him for it were also jumping the gun but its not a panacea and recently the WHO has stopped research on it along with a few other drugs.
The UV thing also has evidence for viruses but the way he said it was the problem there. It's not something that feasible for a bunch of reasons with such a widespread illness and there is little to no data on it.
I dislike trump but I don't necessarily disagree with you, if he was saying it in a misguided effort to provide comfort then thats fine, if he is saying it for self-serving reasons I have serious concerns.
I dont think he was right about either because there isn't a right or wrong here imo.
