RIP - Robert Kennedy (1938-2012)
« on: April 13, 2012, 12:20:47 PM »
Posted on the first thread, but deserves its own because the man was such a great influence in the sport of bodybuilding.  Very sad, one of the great icons has passed away

It is with great sadness that we, the staff of Robert Kennedy Publishing in Mississauga, Ontario, announce the passing of Robert Kennedy, our company's founder.

It is with great sadness that we, the staff of Robert Kennedy Publications, announce the passing of Robert Kennedy, our company’s founder and inspirational leader. Bob passed away on April 13, at home after losing his heroic battle with cancer. He was 73 years old. Bob was surrounded by family and friends. He is survived by his beloved wife, Tosca Reno and his four daughters, Chelsea Kennedy, 19, Rachel Corradetti, 27, Kiersten Corradetti, 24 and Kelsey-Lynn Corradetti, 20. Bob’s only son, Braden Robert James Kennedy passed away last March, at the tender age of 23.

Bob’s life work, dedication and impact on bodybuilding, health and fitness has been a source of inspiration to tens of millions of people and his legacy as a pioneer in this field will continue. If you would like to leave a comment, please do so at: http://www.rkpubs.com/bob/

Here is another good article about Bob...

His magazine used to be good reading back in the day when I still did read bb magazines regularly.

One of the nicest guys in the sport and in life. Bob spoke ill on no one and no one spoke ill of Bob. He was instrumental in many people's careers and will be deeply missed.

Rest in peace.  I'm glad that my urge to say something inappropriate has been tempered with age. I guess getting older has its advantages.

I remind myself that there are many friends and family, kids and former coworkers that are missing someone they cared dearly about.

Rest in peace Robert Kennedy.

You will be sorely missed. The world is worse off for you passing.

I met Robert when he ran his store in downtown Toronto. Very friendly guy, and a great storyteller. He is probably working out with his son and Vince Gironda as we speak. RIP Mr. Kennedy.
