as someone who is struggling to break into the fitness model world, I can tell you that i have no respect for those dudes who win those contests while the rest of us have to do "Private photo shoots" in some comfort inn in order for us to find our "big break"

Yes, johnny has put in a lot of long, hard hours under the bright lights brought into the room by Rico, the photogs assistant. He has carpet burns in places that would make a porn start blush and has, on occasion, let clients "not stay behind the line" so screw this posuer until he man's up and earns his keep.

lol cuz "Rico" was my stage name but i had to change it cuz someone at the new agency i work for also has a stage name that starts with a "R" and they wanted to not confuse prospective customers

JNN, no need to say "Fuck Him" when all you got to do is get into the best shape possible before this summer comes and goes and merely contact Bill Comstock or any of the other fitness/bodybuilding photographers who have access to the editorial staff of the national magazines.
I've yet to meet any of those top photographers who have enough dependable and in shape guys and gals to shoot.
Shooting photos in the local motels sure ain't gonna help you in this industry.
If you look as decent as this model (see above) you'll have no problem getting shot by a renown photographer.
Believe it or not - but even Herb Ritts had some difficulty finding 'volunteers' to shoot in some of his photos you may be familiar with. I recommended my nephew (a gymnast at the time) and he ended up as a model for some major international ads such as Levis and several men's calogne.
It's just a matter of looking your best and get your photos out there.... but you also have to be ready to shoot at precisely the time you're needed which could mean ... Can you show up within the hour?
That request was even used for bit parts in Eraser and for some Janet Jackson videos in the desert and when some one needed a "Merman" for Madonna.
You gotta be known, reliable, and available and then you'll be called by the best of the "bestest"!

BTW, my nephew did a Tony the Tiger commercial when he was a little kid. FIlmed on a very expensive Hollywood Studio set and he and his mom were treated like royalty.... Limousine pick up and return every day. Limited work hours. A teacher and a nurse on the set.
"Yes, sir! No, sir!" to a four year old kid. His mom told them to knock that bullshit off and call him "Skipper".
Skipper did well and is still in the business today. But he's still pissed off about not meeting Tony!

Hard to compare you to this guy or Clark or anyone else. Considering your face is far from being worth to look at and sure you are ripped to shreds but that has to do with you being skinny as hell not because you train. Sure you will come back with a hey you fat fucker shut your mouth and what do you know. Will fat as I might be my contacts and experience in this industry far outweighs (pardon the pun) whatever you will ever acheive. Simply put you are tremendously jealous of this guy already. He has someone to actually help him while you have no one and a bad attitude on top of that. you are very negative and no matter how your body looks if you can't get along with anyone then you will basically go nowhere. Now I am expecting you to post my fat pic and call me fatty. But deep down you know I am right. Hope this helps

Son for some reason I like your energy but honestly you direct it wrong. Instead of putting others down and telling them to fuck off or saying you hate people who get free rides, direct it to marketing yourself correctly. I am telling you that having a negative attitude will fuck you all up. NO ONE is going to want to work with you unless you are some superstar or you are paying them big dollars. You are young and energetic and you can get things done but you need too straighten your act. As fat as I am now I did pretty fucking good marketing myself and getting things no one else could get. I was in a sport that was not mainstream but I did very good considering what I had to work with. You have to know how to market yourself. Be a dick when the cameras are off. Be Mr. Perfect when they are on. Sean Ray is awesome at this as was Arnold. What I saw from Arnold when the cameras were off affected my whole outlook on him. But as long as the cameras are off then the public will (most of the time) judge you on what they see on camera. A little lesson from your fat man
And by the way, as much as it is cool how Nicole is promoting her husband, 8 pack does blow him away.

I think JNN knows that I want him to succeed within the fitness industry and as a result I completely agree with what Keith has stated in his above post.
I've been in and out of this business for more years than I can remember and have yet to meet a successful individual who possessed a negative attitude about himself and/or others within the profession.
It's somewhat different when competitive bodybuilders make negative statements against their fellow competitors because that's what gets the fans interested and their asses in those Olympia seats.
Become known as a negative individual within the modeling/fitness industry and you're toast .... historical toast to be specific. The same goes for anyone attempting to enter the movie industry .... but even more so.
I think that Keith's recommendation is his way of offering help to someone who has some potential and desires to enter the fitness/sports industry - something he knows a lot about.
I hope you accept it that way, JNN.

this is pretty surreal cuz JMentis was on a Muscle and Fitness Cover that inspired me to want to be a fitness model back when i was a teenager
long story short, i'm a grown ass man who needs to "suck it up".....and there is no "12 steps" or "reading material"- you just have to be a man and suck it up
and that is what i have to do
and yes, the past is the past
mind you, i'm not gonna do that thing where i'm positive in the begining and then just lose interest a couple of weeks down the way- I expect this whole "sucking it up" thing to be hard right from the beginning- but i got to do it cuz, while i'm young at 31, i'm not THAT young

yes... not really squatting the 500lb anymore..and the only thing doc said i wouldn't be able to do was run..lol. not that i ever did anyway. so I'm basically brand new again. The only bad thing is that I cannot be sold with original parts. I cannot believe it took me 7 years to get the balls to go and get it done. within 24 hours I was walking and without any pain.

Hard to compare you to this guy or Clark or anyone else. Considering your face is far from being worth to look at and sure you are ripped to shreds but that has to do with you being skinny as hell not because you train. Son for some reason I like your energy but honestly you direct it wrong. Instead of putting others down and telling them to fuck off or saying you hate people who get free rides, direct it to marketing yourself correctly. I am telling you that having a negative attitude will fuck you all up. NO ONE is going to want to work with you unless you are some superstar or you are paying them big dollars. You are young and energetic and you can get things done but you need too straighten your act. As fat as I am now I did pretty fucking good marketing myself and getting things no one else could get. I was in a sport that was not mainstream but I did very good considering what I had to work with. You have to know how to market yourself. Be a dick when the cameras are off. Be Mr. Perfect when they are on. Sean Ray is awesome at this as was Arnold. What I saw from Arnold when the cameras were off affected my whole outlook on him. But as long as the cameras are off then the public will (most of the time) judge you on what they see on camera. A little lesson from your fat man
And by the way, as much as it is cool how Nicole is promoting her husband, 8 pack does blow him away.

I suggest that Ron consider the possibility of promoting a serious GetBig male and female fitness spokesperson event for those guys and gals who are (or should) be striving to break out within the fitness and/or motion picture industry.
Only those GetBiggers who have the potential to reach the Big Time within either industry should be allowed to enter. I don't know all you members, but only those with real potential should be qualified to enter - such as JNN, Ryan, LeafyBug, Go4it, and possibly even T-Bomz in a few months time. And ..... I'm sure that there are many other GetBiggers who would give those mentioned above solid competition.
The judging should be determined by no less than 7 qualified GetBiggers who are somewhat or deeply familiar with the fitness and movie industry.
My last suggestion is to hire OnlyMe to promote and market the winners of this event. I know the business fairly well and can honestly state that Only knows Hollywood heavies and he'd do one hell of a good job of marketing on the winners' behalf. That's his expertise. And I'd be more than willing to make some calls in the hope of getting some appropriate magazine coverage.
Hell!, we more than likely have enough 'important' GetBiggers on this board with the required "clout" to find and promote the next big super-star!

I propose that there should only be a Ms. Getbig. With the tagline "She makes us Get Big down there". Dina would probably win it every year with the same pics posted. last Club Industry I went to there were alot of supplement companies there...both distributors and mfgs.
