Post by: 240 is Back on September 30, 2008, 05:58:36 PM

Is she even capable of giving a straight fucking answer?

Typical politician.

She may be a political noob compared to Biden but she can dodge questions with the best of them.

I agree these interviews have been a disaster and she didnt answer specifically, but I think you are kind of reaching here. If I were her I wouldnt give any specifics either as I know I would get anally raped by whatever I said.

You can't give "specifics" on which newspapers you read without fear of getting "anally raped?"  ??? Can you not give "specifics" on any political issues either for fear of repercussion, EVEN THOUGH YOU ARE RUNNING FOR VICE PRESIDENT?

tonight CBS airs when they asked Biden, and Palin, about any court cases not called Roe V Wade.

Will biden deliver a detailed answer, and palin just stare like an idiot?

McCain will have his camp to give Palin the names of other court cases.  Like 6 of them, she will remember two by name.  But be unable to offer any details about them or how they are influencing the McCain campaign.

The collective bwahahaha of America will be heard around the world next.

No Matthew, Palin is CLEARY learning how to deal with the press; in that video she was absolutely NOT flumoxed by that jewish bint Couric, not one iota.

Palin probably couldnt name the paper, but that isnt the issue; this is politics, its about fuck all other than rhetoric and image.

To wit:

Palin clearly new what Couric was doing and didnt give a shit; if you will, please note the way Palin employed a rhetorical device insofar as turning the question away from the issue and on to a piece of rhetoric about Alaska. She is being schooled well it would seem.

You and your ilk have had all the fun at her expense you will get, she is clearly learning how to deal with the shark tank.

Bullshit, she is dumb, she could have named a Liberal and a conservative newspaper and it would have ended the discussion on both sides.

Bottom line, she probably doenst read the newspaper.

So Couric would not have then pursued authors, articles and trends of said papers?

No, Palin has been taught to avoid entanglement, its a first line debate tactic; Couric was made to look the amateur here - not by Palin, but by those schooling her.

Nice to see you so unfamiliar with the legend of sticky hair.

Can you imagine if she said "I read the WALL STREET JOURNAL,NATIONAL REVUE and THE NEW YORK TIMES.Couric would have then peppered her with all kinds of dumb questions[prepared questions because that moron never had an original though in her head]like "who is your favorite journalist" etc etc.Palin answered it right.

Now,speaking of morons.Anyone question Joe Biden on his bold faced lie about being shot at in Iraq or being forced down in the moutains of Afghanastan? No,of course not.Its far more important to know what papers Palin reads.

C'mon, OzmO, this was a classic entrapment type question.  When someone is being condescending to you, you don't play along.

She should have said "Juggs.  What about it?"

What's the big deal with her answering the question?

By not answering she put herself in question.

She could have said exactly what she reads.   BFD.

I realize what Couric was doing with the entire interview, but, this is a question about what newspapers she reads.  She should not  have anything to hide about that right?

It was leading question which would have certainly cascaded into more detailed questions designed to entangle.  She was smart to avoid it.

Nobody really cares what newspapers Sarah Palin reads.  The tone of the interviews from Couric and Gibson was an embarassment - and I'm not a Palin fan.

I read newpapers, too.   I could also easily misremember or forget the names of particluar writers/stories who might be asked in follow-up questions.

Truthfully, if somebody was trying to measure my intelligence by asking me what I read (Couric might as well have added "if you're so smart" in front of her question), I would tell them to go fuck themselves.  Palin's generic answer was appropriate.

I can't watch that at work.  How was the question leading?  If couric asked her what newspaper she reads, that's not a leading question.

The question must contain some indication of the answer for it to be a leading question.

If that was the case then all she has to say is "I don't remember exactly"   At least she'll show she's human and expose Katie for what she was trying to do.

Maybe "leading" question was the wrong way to describe it.  BUT Katie was certainly asking it with the idea of asking follow up questions.

She doesn't.  No one who reads newspapers regularly would be anxious about naming one or two of them.

Didn't she previously say that she gained her education of the world from reading—since she didn’t have a passport?  Presumably, newspapers are some of what she reads.  The question was both legitimate and predictable.  It was a simple question requiring no expert knowledge, homework, or tutoring.

She said she reads “all of them” that have “been in front of me over all these years.”  In other words, she does not routinely seek out and read newspapers herself.  They have to be placed in front of her, presumably by someone else.  This woman is not ready for prime time; she is not even ready for day time.  Only a moron would follow or defend her.  Regrettably, there are plenty of those around.   :-[

It wasn't a simple question.  It was an attempt to entrap.  If you can't at least admit this, you're too blinded by your anti-republican stance to discuss it with.

All the questions asked have multiple layers.  Do you actually think Couric was asking the question because anyone reallly gives a shit what newspapers she reads?  And, given that, do you really think she wouldn't be able to answer the questions at face value if she wanted to?

There are many legitimate reasons to be skeptical of this woman.  That particluar question isn't one of them.

Why don't we just dispense with the controversy?

Let's trot out a chimp trained to say "tax cut" and "states rights" and run him as a republican VP candidate.

"Mr. Snookums, in light of the recent financial disasters facing this nation, what is the best way for the country to recover its economic stability?"

taaaaxxxxx cuuuuttttssssss

"That's bold.  Let's look at the housing scandal in particular Mr. Snookums.  As VP, what course of action would you embark on to address the looming yet inevitable default of the nation's poorest homeowners?"

taaaaxxxxx cuuuuttttsssss

"Here, here Mr. VP, I mean candidate Snookums!  On to social policy.  Obama recently made statements regarding affirmative action.  In your opinion, what is the fundamental basis for laws that, on their face, seem to favor one group over another?"

sssssssssssssstttttaatessss rigggghhhhhttts

"You nailed it sir!"
