I'm just curious why they put it out on the IFBB site....the B&A thing is a non sanctioned AMATEUR show....only pertains to NPC members.

I dunno Bob... I know an amateur bodybuilder who picked up a cool $2000 for taking 12 pictures, in the mr getbig II contest.

Yes but this is an AMATUER show, so anyone who is an amatuer and who happenes to be a member of the NPC can compete in it. It would not be open to any IFBB members anyway???

curious, what would the IFBB do in a case like that?  Say a dude competes in some local show w/ $500 cash prize for the winner.  He wins it, trains for a few more years and hes now got a world class physique.  Is he shit out of luck for turning 'pro'?  He couldnt compete in the npc and thus couldnt get a pro card by normal means

No, as a pro...everyone knows you cannot compete anywhere else (*See Lee Priest).

As a NPC member, you cannot compete for prizes/ money

Yes, you your friend could still enter the Mr Getbig III, if that's what you're asking.

So this show has prize money?  BTW, my wife won an NPC show years ago and she got a $200 reimberment money as a "prize".

Reimbursement is just that....there is a certain number (like $500)that if it's under can be deemed as expenses, or reimbursement, etc....

The notice of this show was put out because the promoter was putting out false information to competitors as it relates to the IFBB and NPC. He claimed to have IFBB and NPC judges involved with the show.

He also claims:

I was more concerned with their proclomations of NPC amateurs being allowed to do the show without ramifications....that's simply NOT true.

I also have a HUGE problem with the location and date of the show
