Wow,care to show me all the permanent damage that oil spills have caused in the past.Perhaps we should all sit in a dark cold room because there MIGHT be another accident.You know there are hundreads of car crashes everyday,maybe Obama should ban driving.

I've always been opposed to these oil platforms. They are a disaster waiting to happen, now thousands of Louisiana fisheries workers are suffering and billions of dollars in coastal habitat programs are in danger. is it all worth it when if we really try and invest we could have alternatives?

More than a week has passed since the Deepwater Horizon rig exploded 50 miles off the Louisiana coast, killing 11 workers, injuring over a dozen more, and causing a massive oil spill that may eclipse the Exxon Valdez.
Yet the two most prominent political champions of offshore drilling -- Sarah Palin and Michael Steele -- appear not to have uttered a word about the incident.
And yet, if they do comment, it's hard to imagine that Palin and Steele would take the same tone that they've typically used when discussing offshore drilling.
"Drill, baby, drill! And drill now!" Steele memorably chanted at the Republican National Convention in 2008. "Do you want to put your country first? Then let's make decisions about our security based on what keeps us safe and not on what's politically correct," he told the crowd.

We still need to drill for oil or do the pickens' plan. When and if gasoline goes to $4 a gallon again, or $7 a gallon as Obama wants, you guys will be begging for more oil drilling.

Gas is currently at $3.63 a gallon up here in Toronto. ($1.07 a Litre)
3.385 litres = 1 US Gallon.
Things are ramping up real quick. A old friend of mine, the cousin of Canada's former health minister just bought out 3 mlm fuel catalyst companies and is about to launch. You're gonna see your prices in the US raise faster than they did before, because this time around, you'll also be dealing with a significantly devalued US dollar. In many ways the raising price of fuel will mask the rapid decline in your dollar, but you will be experiencing both simultaneously. as your dollar goes down in value, you'll need more of them to buy a gallon of gas, as well as pretty much everything... and of course all the usual suspects will blame the inflation on the increased cost of fuel and costs to get goods to market being downloaded to the end consumer, but the truth is, the buying power of your dollar with be severely diminished, while the price of goods & services will be rising. I wouldn't want to be you.
If you thought the pain at the pump was bad before... you ain't seen nothing yet.

Well, the good thing is that the last few times prices started pushing up, a large number of Americans showed that they're willing to dial back the amount of driving they do. And it seems to happen quicker and quicker every time now. Funny how fast the prices crash after that.
