The Navy BMI calculator is generally considered the best of the online calculators, but it will still be off by a few percentage points either way. In my experience, 3-5% swings are common.

Fairly accurate I'd say.

Take a short, small framed fat guy with a larger than average waist, and a taller heavy set guy who's lean but has the same waist and weight. That would say they have the same bf%.

If he was small boned he wouldn't have a/large wrist.  How can a heavy set guy be lean?

The mirror never lies but oftentimes the viewer is delusional and can`t see the forestr for the trees.

It doesn't use the wrist measurement. It only uses weight and waist for girls. Apparently with 100 inch wrists and hips my bf would be the same.

Heavy set as in large bone structure.

Use a mirror.
Boom! Thread over. I get curious every couple weeks and might get on a scale to see what I weigh. The mirror tells you everything you need to know though.

Use a mirror to evaluate your body fat percentage. On the other hand - to have a better approximation you can use this picture

(Taken from body fat percentage chart (https://healthiack.com/body-fat-percentage-calculator)). Hope it helps.

So which percentage do you all think is the ideal?  To my mind, 8-10% look for males and 20-21% for females are the best looks.
