Goliath's stature grew at the hand of narrators or scribes: the oldest manuscripts the Dead Sea Scrolls text of Samuel, the first-century historian Josephus, and the fourth century Septuagint manuscripts — all give his height as "four cubits and a span" (6 feet 9 inches or 206 cm); later manuscripts increase this to "six cubits and a span" (9 feet 9 inches or 2.97 m).
goliath was a fraud perpetrated by holy catholic church - of course, wiggsican got sucked in once again.
The dead sea scroll main collection of books are identical to the masoretic text, they have him as 6 cubits and a span, which is over 10 feet tall, their are error copies within the scroll and one of them says 4 cubits, obviously a copy of the Septuagint and an error scroll since that scroll was not finished.
So the dead sea scroll are on par with todays Bible and of the 12 or so scrolls of the book of Samuel found in Qumran only one says 4 cubits.
Now Josephus only read from the Septuagint so they are the same source, some scholar believe that the Greek cubit is 27 inches while the Hebrew cubit is 18 inches and this is possible since we know that the Egyptians used cubits and we know they where 21 inches. Some person on Google assumes that the the Greek cubit is 18 inches and you believe him, laughable, there over 6 different ancient texts, non-Biblical, that have Goliath at over 10 feet
His coat of arms was 125-150 lb and his spear head was 15-17 lb. The standard coat of arms for a six footer was a mere 30 lb and the standard spear head was 3lb so obviously he was a man of large stature, in fact the measurement of his armor put him at 12 and half feet
