This "Mea culpa" is ridiculous and will not endear him to anyone. He should have just walked away and gone on to work with Cancer research or whatever without the public eye on him. There is a part of him that is unable to do that because he can`t separate his identity from his sport and nor can the general public. The best thing to do is go gentle into the good night.
I agree... He could have done so much good, but instead, he's busy trying to "save face".
What's the point in it... It will not change anyone's opinion of him and no matter how many "titles" people strip from him... At the end of the day, he came in first at the TDF many many times... Even if the cycling shills want to try to deny it.
