Take a look at the populations of bodybuilding contests or of gyms: largely... MEN. There are hardly any women at BB contests and not too much %-wise at gyms neither.

As long as you are 8% to 12% and regularly work out(aka have muscle mass) women find this attractive.
But what women find most attractive is the face, but the reason most guys start lifting is because they are pretty ugly.
So there you have a bunch of guys with an ugly face who cannot do anything to change it, so what they do is juice up and transform their body to get attention, and they do, but from a certain demographic. Without going into specifics about my cock (too dangerous on a board filled with fags), I went from extremely skinny pre-training, to bodybuilder big (relatively speaking here, I was never something that would make someone entrenched in bodybuilding turn around to look) on steroids after years, to now around 200 lbs and very lean after having been off steroids since 2008 or 2009.
My personal experience: most success with women when I was 130 lbs at 6 3, least success at my biggest, to more success than at my biggest but still less than at 130 lbs now. Exactly according to the poll the OP posted, exactly according to what I knew already.
Now this is only personal experience, I wasn't actually talking about personal experience up until now, because then I'd be making the same mistake I accused others of making (thinking that ME is what IS).
I was talking about what I've consistently seen throughout the years. Women like regular bodies the most, sometimes with a preference for the lean six pack variety, but hardly ever for real muscle, let alone a hardcore bodybuilder.
They just don't like all of that muscle. Muscle is man-territory. And yes, both my personal experience as well as what I have seen confirms that homosexuals dig the muscle very much.

My personal experience: most success with women when I was 130 lbs at 6 3, least success at my biggest, to more success than at my biggest but still less than at 130 lbs now. Exactly according to the poll the OP posted, exactly according to what I knew already.
Now this is only personal experience, I wasn't actually talking about personal experience up until now, because then I'd be making the same mistake I accused others of making (thinking that ME is what IS).
I was talking about what I've consistently seen throughout the years. Women like regular bodies the most, sometimes with a preference for the lean six pack variety, but hardly ever for real muscle, let alone a hardcore bodybuilder.
They just don't like all of that muscle. Muscle is man-territory. And yes, both my personal experience as well as what I have seen confirms that homosexuals dig the muscle very much.

a fit toned slim body = balanced physique that is able to adapt to all environments and has better odds of survival in the wilderness; not too big/slow, not too skinny/weak, simply muscular enough to move fast and fight, small/short enough to move in all environments. Let's not forget a strong mind is also important and looked for.
All women are genetically programmed to be attracted by this physique. Even those who had fat fathers and are prone to be atracted by fat men will still prefer a slim toned male body, but they re conditionned by their family life to be with a fat man. Statistics like that are very skewed usualy, many diff. factors are at play, like one of that above. There aren't many really "god" looking males out there in the streets (go check), they are opting for something "more realistic" (in addition to thinking that these who look like a greek sculpture - will spend more time in the gym, than being with them. Which is often true, btw.).

Society puts a huge pressure on males these days, to earn a lot, to be smart, funny, confident, to be a "winner" all the time and a current trend is to be MUSCULAR too (even if in that Brad Pitt type of muscular, it still takes quite some will for a person to be in that shape). Well not many around like that.. But the fact is that not just males like a good loking body, it's just that females are "beautiful" from the begining, a nature gifted them in that way, and most males would need to work A LOT to resemble these fitness mags physiques (to take hormones and so on). So they doesn't have much expectations as it's obvious that just a small percentage of males can look like that, hence the choice.
Reality is a mix of features, but if one is big in addition to being intelligent (which manifests in money, status and general well being) than there's no competition. Once again - only a fraction of these exist. WHile beautiful females are everywhere (I'd like more of them to be really intelligent tho'..).
p.s. - being muscular, even if big, subconsciously sends another message - this person is able to reach his goals, to be disciplined and probably has a will (even if it's "philsulina blow up" type of "will"). That's respectable.

If your doing exercise for women then your a real loser.
The only reason I do it is because It makes me feel good. if it ever stops feeling good then I stop training as I did for a whole year very easily. I prefer running to weightlifting and only lift weights twice a week now doing fullbody workouts.
Doing ridiculously complex training splits and obsessing over your diet is a waste of time. I went down that road once and the gains were hardly different, without the drugs you will never amount to anything close to the "Pros." So why waste your time trying to eat like them and train like them.

Humanity has became to a point where we start to enhcnace our biology and transcend the limits of it (just like with a plane, to fly, even if we don't have wings), it will just speed up, to a point where a human will become a "cyborg" (but in a most positive way of that word, as it seems words like these scare general public a lot) with enhanced muscles, enhanced immune system, enhanced brain power and a lot fo other stuff.. There's nothing great about a "natural state" (in whatever field/meaning) by default, JUST because it's "natural" (what's that, anyway?).

It is possible that bodybuilding isn't only a gay pursuit. It can be about being healthy and fit too. However, being self absorbed and narcissistic is not the most masculine endeavor one can have. Like you, I go through phases. Sometimes it is very important to me to be as fit as possible and other times, life and responsibilities get in the way of that. You may be a better man than I; I have not gone a month without shaving because with a white beard, when I don't keep it neat, I simply look like some homeless old fuck. This is not the image I really want to project when I am out and about with my family.

Women and men have always hit on me. Perhaps this happens a little less often now that I am in my 60's or I have simply tuned it out. Truth be told, when a woman (or gay guy I guess) sees an overly muscular guy, especially one who is "showing off", their FIRST mental impression is "this guy has some ego issues going on" and that is usually a turn off if they are seeking a "stable" relationship. Women ultimately want an "equal", not someone who will put their vanity/ego ahead of the relationship and role as care provider. Same goes with female fitness models. Most of them have some daddy issues going on unfortunately.

That's not what I or anyone else was saying, I was speaking in terms of what the majority of women thinks. There's obviously no reason why men with a lean muscular body couldn't get a good looking woman. In some cases even the opposite. But it is what it is: most people laugh at/with bodybuilding/bodybuilders.
I also wasn't saying all bodybuilders lack confidence and are insecure. Just that you'll find a disproportionately large % of insecure men in gyms. How many times have you heard stories like "I was embarassed about my body as a kid...", "I was bullied because I was skinny...", "I got no attention from girls because I was fat/skinny", etc...

Under the conditions in which humans evolved for the most amount of time these are te most beneficial traits.
This shit is all experimental, and if society collapses tomorrow, an athletic survivalist--someone that has a balance of know-how/intelligence, agility, stamina, and strength (like our ancestors) will be the most desirable partner.

Bodybuilding is a lot more common in the US than over here. People are more used to it there.
Over here it is basically alien. Even in gyms here you don't see many bodybuilders, if at all. Outside of gyms, you see at the most 5 bodybuilders per year. That may explain the difference in people's perception between here and over there.
+ you may also be a good looking guy with a great personality, that always takes away any negativity people would have towards your muscles.

With all due respect, I think you've got your perceptions mixed up. You can't have daddy issues AND want an equal. It doesn't work that way.
Most women (under 40) don't want an equal. They want someone better than them. They have inbuilt self-esteem issues and need to bounce their lack of confidence off of a guy who has alot of it. They feed on the man's confidence. That's why you see them with jerks - because women simply can not tell the difference between confidence and arrogance. They've never had confidence, so understanding peaceful self-confidence vs. jerk arrogance is not somthing they are able to do. It's all the same to them until they inevitably get cheated on... and then all of a sudden they see the guy for who he is... but still make the same mistakes with the next guy... ;D
Real women - usually over 40 and/or stereotypically ugly - do want an equal. They don't have as much daddy issues and have dealt with shit their whole life. They aren't as superficial and more focused on the real qualities that matter.
