Why on earth would anyone want to live in New York and live like that?
Have you ever been to New York City? Not everyone here lives in a fashion that will/would expose them to such nonsense. Moreover, a seasoned New Yorker, would know how to work around that kind of situation without walking away hurt or even killed.
There are many neighborhoods in this city that are both highly exclusive and intolerant of such filth. The way filth like this is filtered out of the exclusive neighborhoods is by way of average household income. If you can't afford to live in a neighborhood, purchase goods or even a meal from local food establishments in a neighborhood, you are less likely to add to street pollution with your presence, unless you fancy long, useless walks.
There are certain neighborhoods in this city whose inhabitants sport an average household income ranging from 300-600K (Tribeca for instance) and even other parts like the Park Avenue region that has families sporting yearly household incomes around 1.5-20 Million easy. That is simply pointing out regions within Manhattan (I live in the West Village), but even in the outer boroughs there are places that are just as exclusive.
Also, if you don't want to take the risk of being confronted with such garbage due to riding public transportation, there are a few things you can do.....
(1) DON'T RIDE THE PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM!
(2) Take a cab to and from work
(3) Drive your own car to work.
(4) Simply mind your own business.
Yes, it is illegal to eat, smoke, play the radio and masturbate while riding the NYC subway system and all of which can land you a night in jail or even a hefty fine, but let us not forget that there are law enforcement agents that have been entrusted to enforce these laws, not some short, ugly, fat piece of estrogen-coated swine. Besides the fact that those criminals were breaking the law, the other problem I see is a woman who decides to take matters into her own hands and tries to enforce the laws.
YOU JUST DON'T DO THAT IN NEW YORK CITY, THIS KIND OF ACTIVITY WILL GET YOU MUGGED OR KILLED.
Regardless of what race you belong to, such violent antics should never be resorted to. I don't condone the young youth and their actions, but I also don't agree with that woman deciding to play subway cop. If the sight of these black youth eating Chinese food bothered her so much, SHE SHOULD HAVE SIMPLY STOOD UP AND MOVED TO EITHER ANOTHER SEAT OR ANOTHER TRAIN CART. End of story.
Those young black girls could have been swayed to put their food away, the problem is that this condescending WHITE woman wanted to wave her finger at a group of young, black girls and presumed that her feeble attempts at rectifying their childish behaviors would be obeyed. That shit won't fly with inner-city kids. They will simply say FUCK YOU or worse yet, take it to the ground with you.
What is the benefit?
New York City is the capital of the world. Just the sheer earning potential anyone here has is incomparable to any other city. Some of us have grown up here and love the city and its overall culture and electricity. Others love the pace/speed at which everything moves here. My partner and I have been blessed with the ability to own our home in this lovely city and still have a home down in Fort Lauderdale for vacationing or seasonal living.
My point is, if you make enough money, this city can be an amazing place for you to live in. If you make less than 50K a year, you should probably reconsider living here or KNOW HOW TO MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS (See example found within video).
