Personal trainers are for lonely wives or fat ugly blobs, the only personal trainer you need is in a $5 magazine rack or in the Training section on Getbig
"Bro don't squat more than once a week you'll overtrain/your knees will give way/your spine will snap/you'll get leukemia"
Keep the body guessing to shock your muscles into new growth.
i start my post workout shake halfway thourgh my workout so that the nutrients are in my system to optomise the anabolic window
'guessing' and 'shocking' and 'growth' in one line, this has got to be the new top spot

How is that "broscience"? Plenty of people have done that (myself included) and it's yielded great results, usually for first-time users.
First time I loaded with it, I gained 7 lb in a week and 12 in 21/2 weeks. That was back in 1996.
I haven't replicated those results, since them. Again, that tends to happen with first-time users.
"Bro don't do deadlifts and squats they'll give you a thick waist"
so you are saying you are fat
His brutal high rep workouts followed by brutal insulin intake worked didn't they. His guys turned into monsters, none of them won a show, some of them died, but monsters nonetheless.
Three of them did win shows: Luke Wood, Hidetada Yamagishi, and Silvio Samuel.

"12 reps for cuts, 8 reps for mass"
Yes I suppose that is accurate.
What about the old "dumbbell pullovers to expand the ribcage" workout haha :D
stick to the basics - do only compound exercises like heavy squats, deadlift and bench press in the first 10 years (bulking phase)
Missing Breakfast will make you catabolic and by lunchtime youll need your food IV fed through a tube
I remember reading this quote from Kovacs in old magazine article. :D
He never recovered from the deadlifts and squats he did when he was 20..
Also, broscience needs to be exact, the specific number of reps has been determined:
"12 reps for cuts, 8 reps for mass"
Thees a lot of posts in here that are actually accurate. I'm not going to call anybody out personally but I would encourage some of you guys to experiment more.
When doing calf raises, I like to point my toes either in, out or straight to work a different part of of the calf.
I'm doing concentration curls like Arnold so I can work on my peak.
I'm doing dumbbell pullovers to expand my ribcage.

Hasnt the Coach blessed us with his wisdom yet on this, his personal thread?
'a calorie is just a calorie'
There is nothing wrong with this statement.
2000 grams of carbs from say ice cream, if we hypothetically took all the protein and fat out of it so that it would be exactly 8000 kcals, would put exactly the same amount of fat on someone, as 2000 grams of carbs from brown rice would (again with the fat and protein taken out of it).

"standing and walking around all day is all the training you need for your legs"
withholding from self-gratification will increase test levels
"standing and walking around all day is all the training you need for your legs"
Also, it's important to hit your muscles from "as many angles as possible".
Anybody say, "I'm trying to emphasize my 'tie-ins'",yet?
We've had some epic broscience nuggets of wisdom on getbig throughout the years, and even the sarcastic lines/advices given are hilarious sometimes.
Let's see who can come up with the best one line of brotastic fitness advice. Winner will get a set of my handmade 'Full body muscle blindfold' to keep those muscles guessing.
One or two million years of eating only meats and greens and suddenly we think potatoes and simple sugar should be part of our diet.
^good quote
Potatoes and the like facilitated population growth, but at the expense of the peoples' vigor.
In industrial England the population actually started to shrink compared to the Middle Ages--due to food of this sort (as well as the pollution associated with urban life of course)
I've heard that one, added "since your upper body will be heavier, the legs will grow from the extra effort."
Falcon said he performed squats with 135 lbs today for I think 29 reps.
Bro science is not necessarily 'wrong', bro science denotes a sort of jock/laymans understanding of real science that may or may not be true. Professionals/scientist are not always correct with their ideas either, and sometimes deliberately misinterpret data for profit motivations..
You can look at late-20th/early-21st century research, regarding protein and its effects on building mass. And, I can virtually guarantee you that bodybuilders were doing 30-40 years prior to these findings, and getting great results.
Or as this quote puts it,
"Millions of people are involved in exercise programs that involve strength training and aerobic exercise. High-protein diets are the craze. Arnold (Schwarzenegger) was doing that back in the '70s, in the 60s." - Bill Phillips, "Iron and Beyond", from the Pumping Iron: 25th Anniversary Edition DVD.

I don't know man 29x135 is pretty shitty for squats.
I could do that easy and my legs aren't strong.

Failure to fully consider all of these advices will fry your CNS for sure.
CNS overload is the main reason most of us aren't 240 pounds of thick delicious goodness.
Train less, gain more. 3 workouts a week, max.
Upright rows are bad for your shoulders! They are for my shoulders
friend of mine does exactly that.it dosen't work period,,even enhanced but difference is enhanced u could be smooth but full and hard looking with veins and look swole in tank top or clothes ,,real muscle leaness with fiber look ,,dry takes long time training, eating, timing natty or enhanced long process...
i asked him whether he realizes he will just extend his diet time needed, he replied, nah i dont care i need couple lbs more until im a monster.
hes already fat and very smooth and somehow thinks the weight he will gain from now will be muscle
yeah, enhanced you will still gain muscle, ofcourse, but just as much fat.youre absoutely right, it will pop out some, in form of fullnes and a vein here and there under the bloof, but thats it.you'll agree thats why zane,,,abdullahh stood and stand out due to fibrous leaness under clothes u just can't appreciate...big guys like dj and ronnie, yates is impressive but impossible to keep for life it's illusion/delusion,,,
training and eating right over long period of time is the key to quality physique.
time is more importnat than steroids, something that dumb newcomers selectively dont like to hear.
Upright rows are bad for your shoulders!Upright rows will fray the long head bicep tendon at its Origin if you have the wrong kind of Acromion process (scapula.) Stupid exercise. Just ask Big Dicked Bob.
a guy who spotted me on shoulder press today in the gym.....
i did a set of something with 15reps, then a set of 10 reps , followed by a set of 9 reps, increasing the weight.
he first gave me the "valueable" piece of advice to increase the weight(to do fewer reps), in order to get better gains(i dwarf him and outlean him its not even funny btw).
then when i pyramided my weight down, he gave me the tip to not do too many sets, for i could be overtraining easily.
coming from a guy who looks entirely untrained i thought this was a classic.
side note there is a thread on muscular development forum from a parker or something guy giving dietary advice, its full of bro science, i laughed all my way through it.
this thread got confusing...
1 gram of protein per lb of lean bodyweight and if your trying to add on muscle mass you should definitely be trying to hit that number on a daily basisNope, it's a way to sell fart powder...there are tons of dudes in prison who don't get that and make gains. More or less, the excess comes out in the toilet, or eff up your kidneys.
'YA WANNA LOOK THIS ',,,I KNOW CAUSE I DID IT,,,,HE LOOKED GREAT IN SHAPE 89/90 HE WAS SMOOTH IN THAT AD ,,NEVER COULD COMPETE IN PRO SCENE HIM AND EDDIE ROBINSON HAD GOOD RIVARLY FOR A BIT,,

as natty, the difference to enhanced is just they need more rest days, thats all.
they train with lower weight compared to when on, and can keep the volume, just more rest days.
RIGHT ON,,,BRO,,,MY TAKE AS WELL..
Stay away from dairy products at all costs!THAT DEPENDS ON THE BODY CONSUMING THEM,,SOME PEOPLE HAVE THICK SKIN OR RETAIN WATER AND SMOOTH OUT...
