Obama to push domestic spending freeze
« on: January 25, 2010, 09:04:25 PM »
Here is the first of his response moves to recent GOP success.

What politician is going to come out and criticize Obama for cutting spending?

This will be a popular move with most americans, and it'll look like he's finally getting financially responsible.    And he can now stand up at the 2012 debate and say "I called for slashing spending 3 years ago!"

Facing voter anger over mounting budget deficits, President Barack Obama will ask Congress to freeze spending for some domestic programs for three years beginning in 2011, administration officials said Monday. Separately, Obama unveiled plans to help a middle class "under assault" pay its bills, save for retirement and care for kids and aging parents

Krugman gets a lot of love on getbig.... and here's what he has to say:

Climate of Change
By PAUL KRUGMAN
Elections have consequences. President Obama’s new budget represents a huge break, not just with the policies of the past eight years, but with policy trends over the past 30 years. If he can get anything like the plan he announced on Thursday through Congress, he will set America on a fundamentally new course.

The crazy spending has to stop.  Obama did it for a year and now he's freezing it.

i saw this tnoight, interesting...
"President Clinton left a $237 billion surplus; President Obama received a $1.3 trillion deficit"

Next he needs to snag land that's been horded by the rich so the poor can live a decent life.  And after that, there's a few things he can get on nationalizing ASAP.
