A certain amount of racism makes sense and was probably an evoloutionary protective mechanism. In that sense it is a lot harder to to mistreat/ignore someone who looks like you. Also, being able to spot phenotypical differences between tribes probably saved lives a long, long time ago.

All things being equal it's pretty silly to think someone who looks like you (in the modern age) has the same background, shared experiences and so on.

Personally, I don't restrict the "N" word to blacks. That would be racist.

Get your facts straight. Her name is Monique Shinnery and she is a teacher, and yes she is black. The problem with Dog and his son, is that Dog is a bounty hunter and can sniff out someone's character, so he may have a valid point about her. But, that does not give him the right to abuse her like that. The son on the other hand probably  was dating her for, like the the 7 months that Dog said, his son doesn't know shit. And one does not air out family business like the son did, you keep that within the family, this shows his family loyalty, and show what he might do to his friends or to that girl, if things start going sour (think porn tape or some other shit) And she might have been around for the money, who know. But the apple does fall far from tree. If Dog is stupid enough to use such language  and his son is stupid enough to tape it and sell it, and cut off a major source of income for himself and his family, then who truly is the n igger.

I often say , that the person who uses the word n igger, is truly the personification of the that word.

Everybody has certain predjudices and is "racist" to a certain degree. I think it's just the way our mind works. We like to connect things, group people togheter and judging people on their looks is the most obvious and easiest thing to do.

I read that "Dog" has been using racial slurs for his whole life. Kinda funny considering one of his ex-wives (with whom he had three kids) is half mexican. I think this kind of racism gets passed from one generation to the other.
On the other hand, as long as he treats every black man with respect in public and treats them as equals i don't see why he should be punished so severely. It could be that he used the "n-word" just as a insult to specific black people he doesn't like. He could have called her a "bitch" or "ho" and nobody would have cared.

Not that i want to defend him or anything, he's as white trash as they come. Just funny how everybody is sooo PC that they make all the fuss about this and real scandals hardly get press coverage.

Yeah, too bad she got fired for picking on the Hasselbeck chick.  It should have been for being a prejudice douche, something she has likely dealt with being a lesbian. 

I agree with Faust that racism is natural, we just have labels for it now.  Look at the Egyptians.

  IT  is just a word..people need to get over it.People of all races are idiots. If you hate someone ONLY because of their race then you are an idiot. At the same time,if you let a word bother you that much,you are an idiot. I understand if you are African American and someone calls YOU or your family  that,why you would be upset. Gtbro is right.  If we crucified every person who privately used racial slurs then there would be a lot of people being raked over the coals.  It happens, especially in a heated situation.
