A Kansas City Chiefs player died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound Saturday morning at the team's training facility, Kansas City Police Communications Supervisor Kathy Childs said.
The shooting occured at 7:50 a.m. local time at the team's facility near Arrowhead Stadium, Childs said. She said police know the name of the player, but declined to release his name since the shooting was still under investigation.
Police also said another shooting off-site was linked to the shooting.
The Chiefs have released a statement in regard to the incident:
"We can confirm that there was an incident at Arrowhead earlier this morning. We are cooperating with authorities in their investigation."
The Chiefs are scheduled to play host to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.

Police: Chiefs player kills girlfriend then kills self
KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) - Police are investigating two deadly shootings Saturday morning that they said are related.
The shootings involve a Chiefs player and his girlfriend.
The first shooting was reported about 8 a.m. at a home near East 54th Terrace and Crysler Avenue. The second shooting was reported a short time later at a Chiefs practice facility located on the Arrowhead facility.
Officials said the Chiefs player shot and killed his girlfriend and then drove to the practice facility where he shot and killed himself.
It's unknown if people were at Arrowhead or any of its surrounding facilities at the time. The Chiefs confirmed the shooting in a written statement saying, "We can confirm that there was an incident at Arrowhead earlier this morning. We are cooperating with authorities in their investigation."

woha when i thought it couldnt get any more fucked up.
Dude probably had an history of blowing a gasket for no reasons, going way too far... happened to have a gun this time, litteraly shot gf dead because of the credit card debt enraging him... then went to see coach and general manager to tell them about it hoping to find some help, hoping the good ole white man would find a solution like "it s ok "son", you re a very important player, we are going to find a solution for you, you re not going to lose your contract" , but the two white men were obviously scared and told him they couldnt do shit about it and then he realized his life was over once and for all.
On a side note been browsing thru the bitch 's "instagram" (what is instagram anyway, a colored people only version of facebook?), his gf looked like a complete sneaky asshole.

It's such a passive aggressive move to do that in front of the coach and GM. There's no way the story went down the way they said it did...They said he thanked the coach and what not. No way, i'm not buying it.
