Learning to deadlift OFF the rack
« on: March 01, 2007, 08:54:27 AM »
I've never deadlifted off the rack in lord knows how long. I like the ease of use and positioning it gives me. Now as of yesterday I was able to pick up over 600lbs. Ended up being 660. I felt great and felt like I cheated myself at the same time. The bar is a foot from the floor but well below my knees. Should I just start picking it up from the floor from now on out to help get that last bit of room? Or will a foot make that big of a difference in the lift?  ???

Personally I alternate week to week, and only pull from the floor once a month.

Week 1 I pull High racks, just above the knee

Week 2 Low racks below the knee

Week 3 High Racks

Week 4 From the floor

Why do you do it that way.  Serious question.  I can get 560 from the floor, no belt or straps and really need to get to 660 from floor, Cant seem to budge anymore.
