Under the new "enhanced" pat-down procedures, the NFL wants all 32 clubs to search fans from the ankles to the knees as well as the waist up.... The more thorough searches will spell longer lines for ticket-holding fans seeking entry to games... The league hopes fans will be "patient," says spokesman Brian McCarthy, and arrive earlier to games to avoid long, punishing lines.

I was looking forward to taking my daughter to football games, guess that's out ::) I was planning on going to a few games this year, not now. I'm not letting some stranger touch my wife or daughter. NASHVILLE INT’L AIRPORT — A Wyoming man walked through a TSA checkpoint with a raging erection on Tuesday, daring TSA officers and even fellow passengers to give him an invasive pat down.
“I’m next,” Warren Kelvin, 34, screamed as he pushed to the front of the security line. According to TSA officials, Kelvin had ingested two Viagra and wore sweatpants without boxers for his Southwest flight from Nashville to Phoenix.
“I thought he was carrying a baton in his pants,” said Amanda Watershed, second shift supervisor of the A Terminal at Nashville International Airport. “Nope… That was his penis.”
Even though TSA officials allowed Kelvin to initially pass through security without the controversial pat down, the passenger on more than one occasion got back in line until he felt that he had been thoroughly inspected. Kelvin finally got the invasive pat down by 38-year-old officer Duncan Allbright after 80 minutes and four trips through security.
“Even after we let him pass through he kept walking out of the terminal and getting back in line,” said Watershed. “Finally, Duncan had to bite the bullet for everyone and do a thorough screening of him in a private [security] room.”
Allbright, a 14-year veteran of airport security, announced his retirement shortly after Kelvin boarded the plane. “I’m going home to take a shower and make love to my wife,” said Allbright as he got into his car. “This job isn’t for me. I’ve suddenly lost my passion for touching strangers.”
U.S Homeland Security director Janet Napolitano dismissed concerns that more TSA officers would quit or that more travelers would take similar measures to get their “jollies”. “I am hoping this is an isolated incident. If flights were a lot cheaper, I could see more people doing this,” said Napolitano, “but with the cost of airplane fuel rising, I don’t think $560 roundtrip is a bargain price to get fondled.”
Calls to TSA headquarters went unanswered, as everyone there is just exhausted.

really think so? I don't think they'll "plummet" but go read through the comment section under the usa today story. Other negative articles about this are hitting sports sites where at least half the comments don't look very positive tward the new rules. I won't go now, I'm sure there will be others.
This is the way it will work out, if 5% less buy tickets, they'll just bump up the price to cover that loss. So you'll pay more, probably more as the cost of screening will go up too. People will miss kickoff really pissing off more people and they'll be extra pissed that they have to show up early and wait through long lines.
I'm getting really sick of all this bullshit and Big Sis has said the goal is to eventually get this going for all shopping malls, concerts, trains etc... The day is coming where you won't be able to travel anywhere without having to show your papers, be questioned or interrogated, scanned or felt up or some combo of those. Doesn't sound very American to me.

who cares about a metal detector. I'd be fine with that. What the hell is the point of searching you from your ankle to knee anyway? What's that going to do? It's only a matter of time, they'll bust some dude with a dud underwear bomb and it'll be TSA style searches all the way just to watch the game. The works. What is to far?

really nothing different from last year, but the low circling chopper from 3 hours before to two hours after, and during the game, was noticeable.
as for the pat down - I saw more security than usual, but the pat down itself was pretty much the same.
BTW - game sucked. jets steamrolled the jaguars.

Just saw an article from that game where others said there was no difference other than they were asked to take out their cell phone. Other stadiums saw a difference.
I think they backed off a bit after the overwhelming negative response to the USA today article. As time goes along, the searches will no doubt get more invasive, that is if Big Sis gets her way.
Iv'e been to several games in Denver after they started the waist up pat downs but all they ever did was check what we were bringing in. Never had a pat down. I really don't want to take my family if someone is going to be running their hands up and down us to get in. I'll skip going this year and see if this gets worse or better.

I agree, people drink too much at games and that's a big source of problems that happen. The NFL frisking ankles is not going to do anything to stop that though. In 10 years, they could have X ray machines, full pat downs with groin check and behavioral interrogators at stadiums and still be encouraging drunken behavior at games lol...
The pat down shit doesn't do jack to address that.

Drunks w knives, brass knuckles, and guns in a football arena probably not too good. Also, they try to stop people from brining in shit to toss at the players. Used to have a problem w people bringing batteries to toss at players.

LOL, you may have assholes go to your games, but clearly you have never ever in your life been to a Raiders game. These guy show up looking like Darth Vader on acid and acting like animals and that's what they're proud of. The prerequisite to be a Raider's fan is to be the biggest asshole you can be.
I've been to a few Denver/Raiders games over the years and I won't go again for fear the next time, I'm not going to put up with the bullshit and I'm going to fucking rip off the head of some douchhole zombie asshole causing problems. Because most of the times, the line is so long, a lot of the people doing the pat downs do at best a half ass job and dont really do anything at all to get the line moving.
I agree that metal detector would be better.

Wrong fool - Stadiums are private property and I have a choice to go in to the game or not. I weight the inconvenience of the minor pat down vs the enjoyment of the game and experience. to me, its worth it. to you - maybe not.

Pat downs are simply an illusion of security. They've not been found to prevent anything, and are often an annoyance and a possible intrusion on our privacy.

Most have identified rude drunk assholes as the primary problem around going to an NFL game. 3333, even you identified that as your main concern. Pat downs are not the solution for fixing that whatsoever, so I have no clue why you are defending that shit.

No pat downs at Aloha Stadium, although it has gotten increasingly difficult to sneak my food and juice into the stadium. :)
