Watching the Denver game and these guys are clueless. Much like the college game speeds up for the college players, so to does it speed up for these div II refs. Goodel should be ashamed, and his saying that he thinks they're doing great, is a bullshit negotiating tactic and I hope he gets smacked down again jus like he did in the bounty gate case.
-
They were atrocious today in every game I watched. Completely unacceptable.
-
The referees will be way better by game 3 or 4. They are simply adjusting to the speed of the game. Most of the ref's worked division 2 or 3 college games to begin with.
-
the refs did better in the eagles vs browns games, it's just the two teams that sucked. and i'm an eagle fan from way back.
-
I'll even say they are giving some bad calls to the Ravens.
-
Yuck...
-
The Denver/Atlanta game was a f**king disgrace.
-
Upinthemguts, Shizz, I'm looking in ya'lls direction. Who you got? I have to admit, I'm a little worried, and loser is 1-2 which is a bad place to be in the AFC. Brady always seems to pull it out against the Ravens, and without Suggs, it will be tough. That said, I say 31-27 Ravens in a nail biter. Webb has a pick six, Joe will look clueless at times, and Brady will whine for at least 3 roughing the passer calls, of which 2 he will get.
-
Tough game to call. But I do know one thing...Flacco better get his shit together for this game. He looked LOST in the fourth quarter against the Eagles. That loss sickened me because the Ravens had no business losing that game. Just a terrible loss. That thing that drives me most crazy about Flacco is that he holds on to the ball too long at times. It's amazing that he's never missed a game in his career with all the hits he takes.
I can't imagine the Ravens starting 1-2 anymore than I can fathom the Patriots starting 1-2. That being said...FUCK the Patriots. I have the Ravens winning 21-16.
-
No shit, Cam's playcalling is terrible. Rice is averaging 7 YPC and you throw on 3 and 2, 4 and 2? WTF, Harbaugh is a winning mofo, but will get his ass run out of town for some stupid shit like that. I remember though, they were 1-2 I believe Flacco's first year and went 11-5, so it's possible to climb out of that hole. I just hope the team doesn't divide like in the Boller days. I think it could be worse this time because they have never had a team this good or with this much potential. I thought that when they got McNair they would go to the Superbowl, but he was past his prime and didn't really do shit, especially in the playoffs against Indy. It sucks, that pretty much every year they get bumped from the PO, it is by the Superbowl winner, or the AFC champ. I think they would've destroyed the Bears, and Giants, but not sure about AZ, Indy or GB.

I'm fairly stiff right now about going to this Ravens/Patriots game!! I'm so hyped for the atmosphere of the stadium on being on prime time TV...Can't fucking wait to get the tailgaiting underway!

Giants looked nasty last night 8)

so far the 49ers look like the cream of the crop,i am a raiders fan,but they are suckin big time again.
-
Shizz, where you at bro? ;D
-
Really easy solution to deal with these questionable fg's - raise the freaking poles 20ft. Problem solved.
I still can't tell from multiple replays if it was good or not.
-
Did anyone else catch that stat about NE - first sub .500 record in nearly a decade? :-X
Minnesota really took it to the niners.
Revis done.

ive been a Seahawks fan for 27 years. Its been a while since we had a good team to cheer for...and man im psyched about this team this year.
Lynch is a spectacle to watch run..every time he gets the ball you think hes gonna smash right through everybody that touches him.
the defence is is stellar. smashed Dallas last week...............and have sacked Rogers 7 TIMES already in the 1st half tonight :D

WOW, that was a horrible call...

man i gotta agree with u(hawks fan)
get the real refs bak goodell u piece of shit

eagles score reflect how bad they played, they sure don't deserve 2-1 spoken by an eagles fan. reffing was bad but didn't really influence the score that much, maybe cardinals would have had another td.
-
My Niners got caught reading their own press clippings. They need to throw the ball down the field a little more. What's the use of having Moss if you're not going to take at least a few shots a game?
-
have they even attempted to throw downfield to Moss yet?
-
have they even attempted to throw downfield to Moss yet?
I haven't really seen it. They actually had Kapernick (sp?) attempt a long ball to Moss against the Jets on Sunday.
-
Moss hasn't done shit since week one. He didn't even catch one pass against the Jets. I dropping him in fantasy ASAP. He's not even worthy of a roster spot on my bench.

I wouldn't have any Niner WR on my roster. Only two I'd take from their offense are Gore and Davis.

I benched Fred Jackson against the 49er defense....wise move, I think.

Agree. Smart move. I think Niners have given up 100 yards rushing like once going back to last season.
-
Fucking ugly win by the Ravens. I lost FF by 12 points. Had Flacco or Smith done anything, I would've been in good shape. Oh well, Ravens win is all that really matters.

Yeah...Lucky to pull off that win on the road...Those turnovers by the Chiefs saved the Ravens, especially that fumble that Reed recovered in the endzone.
On to Dallas at home and then a megamatchup against the Texans the week after.
-
Eli is bad ass...he had at least 2 or 3 drops and an his interception should have been called a penalty on the D.

Because he showed up in shape and with a great attitude. He has contributed. Just being underutilized IMO.

Now watch the Giants throw up a stinkers against the Redskins...

Bad game by Eli.

They beat the Giants. They did not own them. That game showed nothing in terms of who would win if they met up in the SB. But, if they did, it would be pretty cool to see who could get 3 rings first out of Eli / Ben.
-
haha i actually remembered berzerk fury saying the giants owned the steelers when they beat the steelers in 08, despite the steelers winning for most of the game
i've been waiting 4 years to give it back :)

Set up the Bears nice by running a bunch of plays they never saw the Niners run before.

HUH? Your team won the NFC West two years ago and beat the Saints in the playoffs. Yes, they were 7-9, the first team to make the playoffs with a losing record. But, still.......
-

Harbaugh is such a dick with the media. He comes off as an angry fuck.
He needs to stay with Alex Smith, in my opinion. But the fans definitely want this Colin kid to be the new QB.
-
Kapernick still has to make a believer out of me. I saw him play many times while he was at Nevada. He was a freak. But I always thought we was an average passer, despite the high completion percentage. The numbers were partly the result of the pistol offense and his freakish athletic ability IMO.
That said, what he did against the Bears was pretty darn impressive. I think Harbaugh should start him against NO. Kinda have to after his performance.

they got extremly lucky that year. I dont count a 7-9 team maing the playoffs a "good team" lol
but yes beating the Saints was nice

Nicw win by the Gmen but they lost Ronnie Brown for the year and dont knoe how Philips will be.

Next week is critical in terms of comfort level. RGIII will be a challenge.

Norv is amazing at surviving as a head coach. He coached the Redskins for 7 seasons and didn't produce one winning season, I don't think.

Nice little cushion if they can win.

Adjust to what? He's accurate. Incredibly poised for a rookie. Can stand in the pocket and run. Pretty lethal.
-
If the Redskins find a way to win at least 9 games, there's a strong chance RG3 could win MVP.
Has a rookie ever won it?
-
Eagles release DE Jason Babin to give younger players more playing time.
Would love the Ravens to sign him. We could definitely use another edge rusher to complement Suggs. Dude had 18 sacks last year.

What's your take on Kaep after 2 games now?
What do you think Harbaugh should do?

Very impressed. Smith didn't do anything to lose his job and was playing extremely well, but I think Harbaugh has to start Kaepernick again. He's doing everything Smith was doing, plus he can throw the ball down the field and is a dual threat. That's the missing link that could push the Niners past the NFC title game.

I kind of think the same thing. Kaep was hitting guys in stride and making big 3rd and long completions. While alex doesn't deserve to lose his starting job, the point is to win football games. If he stays with Alex, then alex knows he has a very small margin for error and could be replaced in game sooner than ordinarily warranted. In any event what ever Harbaugh decides he does have the initial trust and confidence of his players.
My gut tells me he will announce alex as the stater tomorrow. but who knows. either way i think we will be fine.
-

Guarantee Kaep remains the starter for the rest of the season. The kid just has that 'it' factor and the right intangibles to win. It's just too bad Smith lost the job due to injury and not because of performance.
-

D's will look at what he does best and try to take it away...sophmore slump.
look at Cam.

Yeah I think he can't go wrong with either one. Jerry Rice was on ESPN this morning sort of waffling. Said Smith should be the starter, but that as a WR he'd rather have Kaepernick throwing him the ball.
-
D's will look at what he does best and try to take it away...sophmore slump.
look at Cam.
He pretty does everything well. He throws a great deep ball. He's accurate under 20 yards. He has great speed. He's a very difficult match up. Like Vick without all the turnovers.
He could definitely go through a sophomore slump, although I'm not sure I'd compare him to Cam. Is Cam really doing much worse than last season?
-

Well its Kaep like you said.
I am pretty surprised. But, no guts, no glory.
-
Sounds like the right decision.
One thing we haven't seen yet is him break one in the regular season. He's a threat to go the distance any time he gets outside the pocket. I saw him break a 60 or 70 yard run at Aloha Stadium and I swear he must have only taken ten strides to get there. He sort of runs like Eric Dickerson.

Ray Lewis expected to return on 12/16/12 against the Broncos..

Sexy?
It's just something he's been doing as a tradition for the last 15 years. There's nothing iconic about it or anything. It's just something he does to get the crowd fired up and believe me...it works. You have to see it in person to believe it, it's different than watching it on TV.
Ray Lewis will go down as an NFL legend. Some people disagree with me on this but he's NOT sacrificing the success of the defense by still being a 3 down player. He can still cover tight ends effectively. He still takes great angles to the ball carrier. He does get swallowed up a lot easier by blockers on inside runs, I will agree with that. But his football IQ is on another level than most. That's the reason he's played so long: his awareness on the field and his dedication to working hard while preparing to play.
The defense is better with him than without him, end of story.
-
Tough day for Kaepernick. I think his biggest mistake was not running about of bounds late in the fourth. That could have been the difference in the game. On the other hand, given all the heat the Rams brought all game long, I thought he did a decent job. His 50 yard run shows how dangerous he can be on the ground.
Will be interesting to see what Harbaugh does for this Sunday.
-
Colin will still be the starter, no doubt. Alex Smith is done in SF.
You were right about his running stride. He was gliding down the field on that run. What an athlete.

We shall see. Smith was very impressive before he got hurt. But I do think he should start Kaepernick again this week.
You should check out Kaepernick's college stats. Crazy. Cannot remember exactly off the top of my head, but I think he was passing for over 3,000 and running for over a 1,000 in a season.

Yeah. Pre season, I had the Giants 10-6 / 9-7. 10-6 looks like a necessity at the moment.

I'm just hoping that my Falcons can finally shake the postseason jinx. I grew up in Georgia and was given the cursed franchise as my favorite team by my dad and relatives. Superbowl win would be fantastic, but being a fan now since the early 70's I'm just asking for at least a playoff win or two. Vindication, if you will.

hes really improved from the first couple games. I remember after watching the first couple games thinking it was their defence that was gonna win them a lot of games and that the offence with the rookie QB was probably gonna struggle this year. Wilson has improved big time....looks really comfortable out there.
Carroll really seems to have brought a lot of energy to the team

True. He has turned out to be one of the steals of the draft. I just hope he sucks on Sunday. :)

Wilson was the QB here at NC State before leaving for Wisconsin. Guy was incredible here too, with lackluster talent around him. He just the "it" factor and stays calm and collected when things fall apart. By all accounts a great guy off the field too.

And that might be a stretch from what I've heard. He was a really solid baseball product too, which is what created the situation at NC State as they wanted him to pick football over playing minor league ball.

Yeah players often inflate their measurables, so it would not surprise me if he was shorter than his listed height.
NC State made a pretty dumb decision.

That's a lot of money spent on a player that's riding the pine.
Can't release him either because of the cap hit. He's probably happy as shit making $343,750 per game doing nothing.

lol @ dumb decision to encourage the guy to play on TV almost every Saturday vs playing baseball and never being seen by anyone
It isn't the players who inflate the numbers, though - it's the guys in the sports information department with or without prompting from the coaching staff.

Don't you just love the way the media (and some in football) like to tell 'us' - the fans - that we don't know shit about running a team when we tell 'them' - the football people and media - that it's FUCKING STUPID to give a guy that type of money on the basis of a 1-3 game sample size.
The media was complicit in causing those teams to overpay for Kolb and Flynn. They were ALL wrong.

Absolutely a dumb decision by NC State. They lost a great player. Drafted in the third round. Now starting in the NFL. That could have been a big recruiting tool.
I agree SI directors are partly responsible for inflating numbers, but the players participate too. They don't do anything to correct incorrect height and 40 times from being listed, reported, etc.

Might be 3 in the next couple of years. Mike Glennon will be a very solid back-up if not starter.

SEAHAWKS
shut down the 49'ers.

Russell Wilson is the real deal! Such a poised, confident player for only being a rookie. Reminds me of Joe Flacco's rookie season a little but Wilson looks to be more talented.

Pretty darn impressive. Glad I missed the game. Those Seahawks just might be a legit SB threat.

Justin Smith
Bro.. Aldon Smith is Good, dont get me wrong.. but the one that makes that defense work is Justin Smith.

Huge loss, but I doubt the Niners would have won the game if he played. It was a blowout. I didn't see the game, but if you look at the box score they got outplayed in all three phases.
And check out the NFC Pro Bowl roster. Full of Niner defensive players. They just got their butts kicked.

I coach Defense at Hollywood high... I had to go study the Niners Games, their defense is nasty. Smith, smith, willis, Bowman, Gholston. They are stacked

Yep. Definitely stacked.
Still, I'm concerned after they gave up 28 to NE in a quarter and got rolled by Seattle. The D is backing into the playoffs.
-
The playoffs are gonna be stacked this year!!! Most teams are a legit threat to go all the way!

AFCCG rematch this year? For whatever reason, even though the Ravens don't have the advantage in the matchups wins/losses wise, I still think they match up better than any other team in the AFC if you see what I am saying. Brady has the JuJu over Manning, and the Texans are not ready, but whenever Baltimore plays NE, it is a close game, just unfortunately it is usually in NE favor.

I'd rather the Ravens rest their starters against the Bengals and be happy with 10 wins. That way the Colts would be their home opponent in round one. Don't want to play the Bengals in the post season. They are looking pretty scary on defense, lately.
But ultimately, the Ravens are going to go full speed to try to keep momentum after the Giants win. Smart way to go, I just hope we don't get any more injuries.

I hope so. It will mean they get at least that far. I'm not scared of the Bengals or Colts, but I don't want to have to go to Texas or Denver :-X Hopefully, The Texans or Broncos lose, so we can get a bye.

Sports bar in NYC is running a special from kickoff untill the game ends for each game this weekend it's $25.00 all you can drink and eat per game.
...Sat will be fun,Sun might be tough ;)

Very happy. :)
Have to say though that Wilson's performance was about as impressive as Kaepernick's.

do you still think the game was better in the 80's or is it "better" now because your team is one of the best once again?

The game was better in the 80s and early 90s, especially before FA and the salary cap had such big impacts. Better teams. More entertaining. Better rivalries.
But who cares about that now? (Besides you.). I'm just enjoying this season. Great to see my Niners advance. Kaepernick is a great story. So was Russell Wilson.

Whatever Earl. Go drown your sorrows someplace else. :) I might be joining you next week, but for now I'm looking forward to Sunday.

seahawks were soooo close :'(
if they wouldnt have been asleep for the 1st half they would have won
if they would have scored even a field goal on the last play of the 1st half they would have won
if their defence did their job and not let ATL get those 2 HUGE plays on that last drive they would have won.
Wilson is a GREAT QB(r.o.y) and is going to have a fantastic future.
congrats to ATL

9.5 dogs again for the Ravens. I love it!!
They always play so much better when they are considered the underdogs. This team really thrives on it, I think.
I'm literally trying to fast foward to Sunday. I cannot wait to watch this battle. They have a chance to get revenge from last year. You can't draw it up any better.

im hoping for a Ravens San Fran to win. Real Football.... I hate the Ravens. But I respect the hell out of them. I really want Ray to go out on top. I swear i almost Cried after that last game.
-
He definitely deserves to go out on top. I really wish he would come back for an 18th season but after thinking about it.....it feel like his timing is good....especially considering the position his team is in.
The Ravens are playing with a lot of inspiration. They refused to let Denver put them away several times in that game. They just wanted it more than the Broncos did. The Ravens are so battle tested. They truly feel that they will win this game against the Patriots.

some "steeler fan" you are rooting for their number 1 rival and the team that could tie their record of 6 super bowls ::)
i can't think of a more nightmare super bowl matchup, other than replacing the 49ers with the cowboys

Im a football fan before anything. I love great football and respect the hell out of Ray. The best 4-3 linebacker ever. Im a linebacker, i was captian of my high school football team, college football team and minor league team. As a linebacker and a leader, if you dont respect and love the way Ray Lewis approaches the game of football.. you might as well be a woman who likes football teams based on uniforms. Im not a child. Kids HATE rival teams. With me. I dont HATE any team. As a fan of the sport of football, its almost gay if you dont have a dog in the race and cant find respect for Ray lewis.

so you don't respect tom brady? tony gonzalez? i'd say they have more of an argument being the best all time at their position than ray does

I have a buddy who is a die hard Steeler fan, we actually went to a Ravens Steelers game at Heinz. Anyway, he is rooting for the "rat birds" as he says they play like the Steelers and wants the Lombardi to go to the AFC North. I don't share that sentiment, but it's sports, and you root for who you root for. I don't like Tom Brady, and will root against him no matter what. He's had his time.

i will root for the ravens against the 49ers or cowboys in a super bowl, nobody else
there is no reason for somebody to root against brady other than jealousy, he already has a resume more impressive than any other qb so what else are you rooting against?
rooting for the afc north? wtf this isn't college football where your conference needs "respect"

I don't think the Ravens D will have an answer for Kaepernick by Superbowl. They are older and slower than 2 years ago. I like the 9ers chances to exploit Flacco. He's playing good right now, but Kaepernick tore up the Pats D just as bad.
I look forward to this game and another ring.

Fuck the Pats D. It sucked and always has. I'm not convinced that the 49er DB's will have an answer for Torrey Smith and Boldin. Boldin is straight up killing it in the playoffs right now and I predict he will win Superbowl MVP. He is playing with so much determination and urgency to win the big one.
Kaepernick is so dangerous in the read-option offense. Plus, he'll be playing on turf which makes him very fast on that surface. No worried about Gore killing us, to be honest.
Ravens win 27-24.

I hope SF doesnt try to put Rogers on Boldin. That shit aint gonna fly.
I think if SF has a chance they must have Smith and Smith Rushing the Passer like a mofo. Because if Smith and Boldin get off... and then Jones in the slot running seam routes will be too much for the DBs of SF. I like SF's DBs but because they bring hat... not because the cover well...because the dont

Well you know what?...............If my aunt had balls, she would be my uncle.....cry me a fucking river.....fucking Patriots fans.....you guys got a GIFT last year when Evans and Cundiff fucked the Ravens.
The Patriots didn't lose because Talib wasn't out there...you lost because you wern't PHYSICAL enough to play with the Ravens. The game was over the second the Ravens went up 7-3.
The Patriots D has sucked all season so one guy going down wasn't going to make the difference in that game.

The Ravens O-line is playing lights out right now. I think Flacco has only been brought down like 3 times in the playoffs. When they bumped Oher to RT and Mckinnie to LT before the playoffs...I was giddy because I knew that was their best O-line combo. Plus...Mckinnie is fresh from not playing all season. Flacco has all day to throw back there. 8 TD passes with no INT's says it all.
If the 49er's D cant get to Flacco...its going to be a long day for the 49er's.....The Ravens O is playing great right now.

Randy Moss today says he thinks he's the greatest WR ever.
Greatest is such an ambiguous word. He might be the most talented. "Greatest" to me means greatest resumé of accomplishments which has to be Jerry Rice.

He needs to put the crack pipe down. Jerry Rice is the GOAT. He worked harder, he played harder, he won rings, he put up numbers better than any WR in NFL history.
He never had a substance abuse problem. He never had alligator arms. He never quit ("I play when I want to play"). Always left it all on the field.
I really like how Moss has contributed to the Niners this year. Has been a class act on and off the field. But better than Rice? No.

Not many. They haven't really needed much from him. I think he was underutilized, but he has done a great job being a good teammate and mentor. I think he'll be a threat on Sunday.

"Cash money, homie!"
Moss' season in 2007 was the greatest season of all time for a WR, in my opinion. I never understood why the Patriots wanted to get rid of him while he was still playing well. I understand he acts selfish sometimes but he and Brady had such a rhythm.

No doubt about that. Moss definitely has gas left in the tank. He'll play well somewhere next year. He's a freak. Even at his age, he can produce well with another team.

Not quite Earl. He was a five star recruit out of high school. Was one of the top five ranked recruits in the country.
And what did he do before all the drama?
Senior season (2012)Te’o announced on December 11, 2011 that he would return to Notre Dame for his senior season. Te'o entered his final season as one of 10 players in Notre Dame history to record over 300 career tackles and started the season eighth on the career tackles list for the Fighting Irish.[28] During the season, Te’o was the leading tackler and leader in interceptions for a 12-0 Notre Dame team which had the second-ranked scoring defense (10.33 points per game). He had 103 tackles in the regular season (52 solo, 51 assisted, 8.58 per game), including 5.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks (one for 13 yards of Oklahoma quarterback Landry Jones.[19] Te’o also led the team, as well as all FBS linebackers in the nation, in interceptions. Te’o’s 7 interceptions during the 2012 season are the most by any FBS linebacker since 2001.[29] He ranks third in the nation at 0.58 interceptions per game, and overall only Fresno State safety has more, with 8 interceptions this season.[19] His season-high per game was 2 interceptions for 28 yards against Michigan. All statistics have been taken from the Notre Dame Fighting Irish Athletics website.[30]
In the 2012 season, Notre Dame ranked second in the nation in scoring defense (10.33 points per game) and ranks in the top 19 nationally in four other defensive categories: fifth in rushing defense (92.42 yards per game), sixth in total defense (287.25 yards per game), 12th in pass efficiency defense (105.58) and 19th in sacks (2.75 per game). Te'o's 8.58 tackles per game is three and a half more per game than the squad's next-most prolific tackler, Zeke Motta (5.09 per game).[19]
Te'o is the most decorated defensive player in college football history. He won the 2012 Defensive IMPACT Player of the Year Lott Trophy, as well as the Maxwell Award, the Chuck Bednarik Award, the Bronko Nagurski Trophy, the Butkus Award, the Lombardi Award, and the Walter Camp Award. In addition, he was named a national scholar-athlete by the National Football Foundation.[31] One of three finalists for the Heisman Trophy, Te'o eventually finished second in the voting to Texas A&M Quarterback Johnny Manziel.

Kaepernick on a fast surface scares me. The Ravens had trouble with the read option offense when they played the Redskins and RG3. Its so tough to defend that when you have a QB that can run like Colin.

Agree. Plus he has been throwing the ball extremely well. That's what really surprised me. I was never impressed with his passing when he as at Nevada.

i have two eyes, he's not that good and he got completely owned against alabama and even against pitt with their shitty o line
why not post the wiki of the numerous heisman trophy winners that were "5 star" players out of high school that ended up doing nothing in the pros to help support your argument even more, for a player you probably never even watched play ::)

You're wrong. The reason people know who he is in large part is because he's the most decorated defensive player in college football history. Maybe he's not that good in your eyes (I use the eye test too), but the people voting for the Heisman (second place), Maxwell Award, Butkus Award, Lombardi Award, Walter Camp Award, etc., etc. disagree with you.
He won those awards because he produced on the field, including having more INTs than any linebacker in Division I since 2001. That kid is a beast.
And I only mentioned the fact he was a top five recruit coming out of high school to help you understand why people knew who he was before all this fake girlfriend stuff. He could have gone to any school in the country.
He's also going to be a first round pick.

I think it was more about the money. He would have wanted way too much. The Patriots aren't about giving Afraud contracts. (I know they aren't guaranteed) Except the higher the total amount, the higher the guaranteed :-X

He's also going to be a first round pick.
do i really need to name all the losers that were given those awards in college? i don't have all day so you can look them up yourself
he is only the "most decorated" because he plays at the most famous football school that was ranked number 1 in the country and he was their biggest name
if you truly believe he deserved all those awards you don't watch college football or you just watch the "name" schools like notre dame where all of their games are nationally televised
how many tackles did he have? look that number up and tell me, we all know inside linebackers are supposed to have a lot of tackles
jadeveon clowney was the best defensive player in college football, but his team wasn't ranked high enough nor does south carolina have the publicity of notre dame
again i don't have all day to name all the first round busts, i will quit watching the steelers if they draft that clown in the first

Two issues. The first is your claim that the "only reason anybody knows who he is" is because of the fake girlfriend and his grandmother dying. I just showed you how that's completely untrue. That's why I referenced his awards, production, high school stuff, etc. He has been one of the most talked about college football athletes since high school.
The second is your claim that he isn't very good. I'm not going to argue with that. People can have different opinions about what they see. If you've watched him play and think he's not very good, that's fine. I happen to disagree. So does pretty much everyone else who has watched him play. But everyone is entitled to their opinion.
I gave you his college stats already. You obviously didn't read them if you're asking me how many tackles he had.
Regarding whether he will be a good pro, that remains to be seen. There are plenty of first round busts every year. He could very well be one of them. I doubt it, and I think he'll have a long career, but he could be a bust.
He's a great kid. I'll be rooting for him wherever he lands.
-
lol.. Thats funny
Dude is a beast on the field.. had a lot of production. Not really a hitter but he does everything you want an ILB to do. He reads well, great instincts, very discipline when dropping in to coverage. Gets off of blocks well and makes sure tackles. Did he have a bad game vs Alabama...yes... but ive seen Ray Lewis stink it up before... just not that much. No one knows who will and wont be busts.
Its a crap shoot. But ill tell you, i think he has the work ethic and instincts to be a player.

he did not have all this national attention until the death of his grandma and "girlfriend", he made about 12 tackels against michigan the same day and espn jumped all over it
high school accolades mean shit, there's about 30 "5 star" players per year
the college awards also mean shit, they are given to high profile players on high profile teams, how many college awards did kaepernick win while putting up huge numbers? NONE because he played at nevada
i don't care about his interceptions, an inside linebaclers job is to make tackles
if you watched the alabama game and still think he's a great player, that's your problem
he's a weird kid and the most overrated college player i've ever seen, i don't want him on my team

Anquan Boldin traded to 49ers
Updated: March 11, 2013
ESPN.com
The Baltimore Ravens agreed to trade receiver Anquan Boldin to the San Francisco 49ers, the team they beat last month in the Super Bowl, sources confirmed to ESPN.
The Ravens have made all the right moves recently -- until Monday's trade of Anquan Boldin to the 49ers, Jamison Hensley writes. Blog
The Ravens will receive a sixth-round draft choice in return, the sources said.
Boldin, who is in Africa on a mission, needs to pass a physical before the trade with San Francisco becomes complete.
The trade agreement was earlier reported by the Baltimore Sun.
Ravens receiver Torrey Smith took news of the trade hard, venting through his Twitter account.
"This business is BS at times," he wrote.
While Smith was upset, Boldin's potential new quarterback, Colin Kaepernick, was excited by the trade when he spoke with ESPN.
"If it's true, it's a great trade," Kaepernick told ESPN. "We're happy to have him. Having a playmaker like that at receiver is something you always want. It's another weapon for our offense and our team."
Kaepernick added that he thought the Niners were getting Boldin at a great value.
"He's a great player," Kaepernick said. "I don't think you're going to find anybody in the sixth round to come in and play better than what he's doing right now."
The Ravens had reportedly asked Boldin to take a pay cut to help the team with its salary-cap situation. Boldin is scheduled to earn $6 million in the coming season. He carries a $7.531 million salary-cap figure.
Boldin told USA Today on Saturday that he was unwilling to slash his salary in order to stay with the team, citing "principles."
"At no point, no matter how well I played, would I come back to the table and say, 'I need more money.' The contract that I signed was the contract that I intended to play out," he told USA Today.
In the playoffs, Boldin caught 22 passes for 380 yards receiving (95 yards per game) and four touchdowns. He has led Baltimore in receiving yards in each of the past three seasons since being traded from Arizona.

Yall gonna get Reed or what?

Yall gonna get Reed or what?
I doubt it. I think they'll get someone younger. And if they're going "old," I'd say Woodson is more of a possibility than Reed. I wish they would just keep Goldson.
But FA starts in about an hour, so I'll guess we'll see where the chips fall.
-
Ed Reed chooses the Texans. Sad day for Raven Nation. There is no way those Texans fans will appreciate Ed the way the Baltimore fans did. All good things come to an end. Best of luck Ed. Definitely a top 5 free safety in NFL history.

Ravens might be garbage next year.

Ravens might be garbage next year.
The haters crack me up....everyone outside of Baltimore thinks the Ravens are going to play like an expansion team next year.
But what others don't know is that baltimore still has plenty of young talent. The Ravens are reloading and building for the future while staying competitive at the same time. They will continue to build in the draft and make small splashes in free agency. Flacco and Rice are in their primes and Torrey Smith and Pitta are only going to get better. They still have a rock solid offensive line with only Birk retiring. The D-line is looking good with tons of depth ...Canty, Mcphee, Ngata, Spears. This is not a defensive team any more. It's all about the offense with Flacco at the helm. I predict he tosses 30+ TD's in 2013. He's won a superbowl, he'll have plenty of swagger.
I predict at least a 10-6 season in 2013.
The Ravens are not done making moves. Stay tuned.
-
is that realistic considering they went 10 -6 with all of those players last season?
players being young doesn't guarantee they will get better, they could actually get worse
what about the leadership of ray lewis? i heard about this non stop for 12 years or so now his "leadership" doesn't matter any more

They started 9-2 if that means anything. Then they started playing like shit for 3 straight games. Suggs, Ngata, and Joe are the leaders now.
They still have major talent to win at the key positions. QB, O-line, D-line. I'm not concerned about the future of the team.
-
You are putting faith in Joe Flacco. Trent Dilfer won you guys a ring too. No way he lives up to the highest payed player of all time.

Dude, you are like the EKul of the sports board.
Anyway, I think they make the playoffs next year, and hopefully Flacco has something to prove. Looks like Denver is dropping the ball again with Dumervil, I think letting Reed walk was a good sign.

The 2000 Ravens won a ring because of the most dominant defense to ever play. Dilfer was along for the ride.
And the Patriots are putting a lot of faith in Amendola being as effective as Welker. Aint happening. Amendola can't stay healthy and he's no where near as good. i bet Welker lights up the Patriots next year when they play.

No shit. Welker will bite them in the ass. :-X

Ravens sign Elvis Dumervill. What a great addition to the team! Suggs and Dumervill might be the best outside LB combo in the AFC if Suggs can return to form.
With Dumervill, Marcus Spears, Chris Canty, Ngata, Arthur Jones, Mcphee(who is only getting better), and Suggs....The Ravens are going to be getting after the QB in 2013.
Love it. If they can lure Karlos Dansby or Kerry Rhodes at FS...The Ravens defense will be much better than last year.
-
Ravens sign Michael Huff. Solid pickup to replace Reed. Inside Linebacker is next.
The Ravens are reaping the rewards of not panicking with all the free agents that have left the defense. Getting Dumervil and Huff for cheap shows why Ozzie is easily a top 5 general manager in the NFL.

In Oz we trust. Not sure if its a total rumor or not, but I heard that a low round trade for Rolando McClain may be in the works.

Still aint gonna beat the Patriots. Boldin single handidly, beat us. Along with Talib getting hurt.

I was just thinking about him because the Raiders are expected to release him so I'm not sure if the Ravens would have to trade for him. He's only 24 years old with 3 seasons under his belt and definitely talented. I heard he's a bit of a dumb dumb so I'm not sure if he has the IQ to play for the Ravens. I mean...if he's so good then why are the Raiders wanting to release him rather than pay him and keep him considering his youth and potential? Makes you wonder.

Maybe you don't remember the lick that Pollard put on Ridley that caused that fumble in the 4th quarter. The Patriots got beat plenty of ways on that day.
I'm glad that Tom Brady thinks he's good enough to play until he's 40. I don't see it happening since he's getting slower moving around in the pocket. Only a matter of time before he takes a serious hit.
